This was my second time staying at this hotel, and I can say it was quite comfortable. Room was clean, dishes were clean, fridge was cool and ready to go. I liked the paper towels being folded in to pretty shapes, it was a nice touch. Also, I cannot stress enough how much I love just binging Forensic Files while on vacation, and this hotel has that particular channel! It's located in a good area of town too, less than 5 minutes from Sac State.
Hotel is situated near Cal Expo and the Arden Fair neighborhood in a commercial lot. The outside looks great. I think they must be doing some subtle upgrades. They were having the water shut off in the morning for a few hours, the fridge started making an awful racket at one point and the fire alarm went off after I got out of a hot shower. This has happened before in other hotels this is because the condensation blocks the sensor and since it's hot the sensor trips for fire. The alarm went off after a minute and I unplugged the fridge after yalking to whoever was on at the night desk. Problem solved. The rooms are nice having a fullsized fridge a small stove top microwave is a plus. Showers are a nice size and bathroom is spacious. Overall would stay here again. It definitely hits pluses with the kitchenette and space of the room. Just needs some love. Rooms: Like I said rooms are spacious probably an older fire alarm that got tripped by hot vapors from the shower and a fridge with a bad motor. Beds are fairly firm the kitchenette is a big plus but I didn't use it. The desk in the room is large and chair is comfy. Nearby activities: Cal expo arden fair mall are really close. There's a hospital close by as well Food & drinks: There's a few restaurants in the same parking lots including twin peaks similar to hooters
Was excited to find a place close to our event. That's the only plus to this place for me. I feel its over priced. Outside boost a clean and updated look as well as the lower lobby but once up in the floors it's beyond dated. but the rooms are far lacking. Wouldn't be as bad if we open our room door and found a clean room. Employees seemed hardly awake, like they both were about to fall sleep at desk3pm. Didn't welcome us other then saying there was breakfast in the morning, no other information was given. Did enjoy the breakfast it is carb loaded and heavy but decent and clean. Floors before our room and in our room were not vacuumed, the stove had food in the trays and fridge has food crumbs and dust over the top of it, check out my photo of the bed I have never seen pillows like that. I only complain so cause vacuuming is easy and should be done daily. We paid 189. For a basic room. I'd only stay for the location again. Also elevator closed in mornings no one told us doors on elevator closed so seemed like a daily occurrence maybe tell your guests so they aren't rolling suitcase down 3 flights of stairs.
The fixtures, furniture, carpet, and televisions in these rooms are clearly the originals that were here when this hotel opened a few decades ago. The TVs are NOT Smart TVs, and the picture quality is very poor. This hotel is comparable to a run-of-the mill motel. The word slumlord comes to mind.Rooms: 1/5
Room is outdated. Shower curtain is pointless as it flooded the bathroom when I took showers. Bottom of the cabinets reflected this. Tv didn't work. Bathroom light didn't work, but would flash. Iron didn't work and to top it off, there was a cockroach in the bathroom. I informed the front desk at check out and it seemed the girl working could care less. Such a horrible room all I could do was laugh. Thanks
The suite was nice. Came with everything needed for an extended stay. Rooms were clean and the bed was comfy. The only issue I saw was that the bathroom towels had some type of yellow stains on them.Rooms: 4/5
Outside looks fancy inside is disgusting! The pull out couch had no sheets and a huge fecal matter stain on the mattress! We were moved to adjacent room with no coffee stuff or shower curtain or soap! Cable channels sucked snowy remote didn't work in either room! Lady screaming at 4am woke me up! DEFINITELY NOT WORTH $150+ FOR THE ROOM GROSS!!!! WILL REPORT TO AAA HAVE THEM REMOVE FROM LIST!
I stayed four nights and every night there were issues with my rooms. First night I checked in and the bed broke; which injured my back, the tub floor was weak and felt like I was going to fall through, the door to my room did not shut without force and when I informed the front desk they switched me to another horrible room and didn’t have any ice packs for guests only small ones that fit in my palm. So they brought me a big trash bag of ice; which ended up being useless bc it froze to the freezer. Second room: the eye on my stove did not work and when I informed the front desk they gave me a new eye in a bag instead of sending someone to fix it, could have shocked myself or worse I had to remove my comforter bc there was a dry blood stain on ithousekeeping speaks no English so when she took my comforter, she didn’t give me a new one had to hobble downstairs for a new comforter by front desk. A/C went out as well. Breakfast: No continental. BYOF Location: near a lot of homeless but also stores. Interior of room: out dated and peeling furniture. Stoves may not work and tub floor may be loose. A/C also went out Overall: Rooms are not safe and they are very inconvenient. Best Part: The front desk employees
