Latreia Dance Academy has a heart to teach students the joy of dance through quality instruction and to share that joy with the community.

Latreia – of Greek origin - λατρεία – The short definition being: Service, Worship
To render sacred service – essentially worshiping God by serving Him
What does worship or service have to do with dance?
“And David danced before the LORD with all his might, and David was girded with a linen ephod.” - 2 Samuel 6:14
“Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.” - Psalms 149:3
Art - the quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance.
Worship - reverent honor and homage paid to God or a sacred personage, or to any object regarded as sacred.
Art is expression. An emotional, wholehearted, uninhibited expression. Art and dance being art form can express a story or feeling. Worship is an expression of honor toward God. As a dancer, what a better way of worshiping God than to use the gift and expression of dance.
To serve - to render obedience or homage to (God, a sovereign, etc.). Being in service of. to render assistance; be of use; help.
As human beings we have a duty to serve our fellow humans. Not only that, but God calls us to serve others through His love. Being contributing members of our community is something we should strive for. By serving others in our community, we in turn serve God by following His will.

“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” - Hebrews 9:14
