I really enjoyed my round at Laytonsville. The course is relatively short, with the longest tees being around 6300 yards, but the course has done interesting holes and a good overall design. It's not especially challenging, but tricky enough that it certainly helps to know the course. The staff was also very friendly, especially the starter Sue. The course is in great condition as well. Really strong value and a real gem of a course.
Great little course for the price, has a very nice mixture of wooded holes and open ones too; captures that park land style of course very nicely. Conditioning was pretty good when I played last summer, and the greens were healthy + rolled nice
Update 7-23: course is in fine shape. Tee boxes fairways and greens all in very good condition. Numerous holes are really wide. Nice kept up course but some of the fairways need work and new planted grass is present. Greens on the whole are in very good shape. Some holes have elevation. Average difficulty overall for the course.
Absolutely terrible experience. Group of ladies picked up my balls on two holes 1&9. Ladies claimed we were hitting into them even though they were on the green during every tee shot we took. Marshal came out to talk and was very disrespectful and talked in an aggressive manner. Do not recommend this course at all. Avoid especially on the weekends. Not worth $70 to ride on a Sunday. Wish I could have my money back. There are a ton of courses in the area that are ran much better. PB Dye and Blue Mash are better for the value. No one has reached out to me about replacing the balls that were stolen.
The course is in the best shape I’ve seen it in a long time! Greens. Fairways , and tee boxes all lush and colorful!!!
The greens have really gotten better after the treatment in the early summer. Good folks working and the course is definitely tough at times. Usually really good conditions, although I’ve lost a heck of amount of balls lol! Definitely playing here more often.
I came in right off the road from Indianapolis IN. Gave them a call for a tee time, and they said come on over. I’m from up north so the price for 9 hole shocked me. But I paired we with a great group of folks, Al, Rob, and KeKe. Got some pointers on my chipping. I really loved the course. Just the type a third year player like myself needs. Thanks for having me!!!!!
Great experience watching & taking golf tips from the hubby, plus met 3 new golfers who were friendly & excellent/fun golfers. Course was nicely groomed & green. Can't wait to actually play 18 holes!!!
How are you as course management going to rush us twice on one hole on the front 9, then allow us to get chased up the back 9 even though we were supposedly 2 holes ahead at the start of hole 10. Literally ruined the entire vibe of the outting. Will never play any Moco course because of this experience. Drove an hour plus, paid almost $80 to be able to play 8 holes out of 18,robbed of 1, and dodging balls for 9, yay. What a joke
I have had multiple lessons with Brad and he has been exceptional as an instructor. Breaks the sport down to terms that I can fully grasp and learn from. The course is also fairly well conditioned and the staff are very friendly
