Le Souk Olivique crafts fine Olive Wood for your kitchen and home. Located in Nabeul, TUNISIA and Clinton, Washington, USA.
In Tunisia, olive trees are integral to their culture and economy. Olive oil is their largest export crop. Old olive trees can only be cut after they have stopped producing olives, and a new saplings must be planted to replace the old. The raw wood is then dried for over a year before we carve them. We finish all our pieces with six, increasingly fine gages of grit paper (as oppose to Tunisian industry standards of two-three) We polish all our pieces with a proprietary mixture of vegetable oil, food-grade paraffin, and bees wax. Our U.S. warehouse is located in Washington State for north american distribution.
We began with 40 different shapes, from Utensils to salt shakers, to unique bowls and baskets. We will create new shapes and designs regularly.
