Welcome to scans of our Inventory of much sought after Replica cards
I just happened to find some cards when I was a child in the 60's in my parent’s attic in 1985 and sold some at a show. I had so much I decided to sell them myself and seeing I always kept mine in perfect condition a STORE WAS BORN!
Our goal was to keep the customers coming back by keeping prices affordable and of course trying having what no one else does. We like to be a step ahead and different than any other Baseball card retailer.
We did the Card show circuit from 1985 to 2003 on weekends in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Connecticut to New York area. We were highly recruited for all the major shows and special event shows as we had the biggest selection of Pre 1970 cards and Memorabilia in all of the North East.
We specialized in League Leader Cards, the ones that are always appreciating in value. Currently we still have every one ever made by Topps (yes even the new, had too for my OWN collection). How can you beat having 2, 3 or more hall of famers on ONE card for under $50!! Check the 1963 Topps card number 3!! Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Orlando Cepada, Ernie Banks & Frank Robinson! ALL ON ONE CARD!
We have BUT ONE Printer Proof Poster (35 x 22) of the Burdick Collection Poster, there were only 5 made in the world (I personally know the person that made them), you can tell the difference as it has the registration marks printers use in the corner. The proofs on Topps cards are valued at 100X the regular card no matter who it is and if say it’s a Mantle EVEN MORE! I am willing to bet this may be the ONLY one still in existence. I have it framed and was made in 1989. Production run was 1990 and Called "Legends of Baseball: 1909-1953," I have seen a couple of posters on eBay selling between $125 to $200 and UP! But these are the production run posters not a Printers Proof. Thus the value of the one we have could run at auction around $2000 and up, you can’t find another! We have this currently to sell for ONLY $500 (You can see one here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Legends-of-Baseball-Burdick-vintage-cards-poster-FRAMED-/151139946544?pt=US_Baseball&hash=item2330a49030#ht_120wt_938). This collection is one of the world’s most valuable. This poster from the link was one of 5000 made, the printer proof again is one FIVE!
We have maybe the largest collection of STAR Company card sets in the WORLD.
During the days of the show circuit, I used to try and help collectors go in the right direction if they are looking for "investment purposes" only, Not the inserts that were coming out of packs at the time where the ink wasn’t even dry yet and STILL being produced, the direction on a small scale in price was these STAR Sets and Promo's, or the League Leader Cards. For what people were paying $200 for card that was printed the day before you could have REAL hall of Famers like Mantle, Koufax, Mays, Aaron, Clemente and MORE! You could have landed about 20 of those for the price of one of those inserts. Look back now and check yourself, the ones made from the 90's on are not worth the paper they were printed on and the value of what I suggested has since quadrupled!
The star cards are the same thing, key is condition and how scarce an item is, that simple. You will see us listing many ONE of a kind item as we get this site going, never to be seen again. ALL ours are in MINT condition and all unopened packages. (A little dusty since we have had them since the late 80’s.)
This is just scratch of the surface of what we carry, but for now we are selling for the Holidays these Re-Print cards, we have both Graded and Non Graded (Graded are $10 more actual cost) for people who have Sports fans for gifts without breaking your bank.
Example the 1909 T-206 Honus Wagner card, the HOLY GRAIL of all baseball cards; last I heard the highest one sold for was about $8 Million! We are at $5 and these are almost 20 years old themselves and are 100% authorized from the Wagner Estate itself. Of course we have more, about 100 other cards and they are EXTREMLY hard to tell the difference of them being real of not. We are not fooling anyone as we sell them as to what they are.
And on eBay from 1998 to 2003, then again from 2008 to 2009 and again this year for a short time (2013).
There are no shows anywhere near where I live now in Florida sadly (Trying to start one between Orlando and Daytona area soon).
Well that’s a good part of our story, we will see how this site works out for us and as long as we have a strong clientele we will be happy to stay here. Like I mentioned earlier, we like to develop a relationship with repeat customers and keep them happy.
Best Regards
Bob and Lisa Forsyth
