Our son recently passed away and Leal Funeral Home exceeded our expectations with the funeral arrangements. They went above and beyond to make this process for our family go as smoothly as possible. They are very understanding and comforting but most importantly they listened to our needs during this difficult time. We were very happy with the outcome and would definitely recommend them to anyone we know.
The Leal Funeral Home in South Houston provided excellent service to my family for both my grandparents’ funerals. We felt supported during our time of grief and helped us through the arrangement planning in a sympathetic and timely manner. We were grateful to be in good company.

I have no words to express the great service we received from J. Leal Funeral Home. Mr., Mrs. Leal and Mr. Roy were ver comforting and very personable throughout these very difficult decision. They provided a very family,friendly, and personal experience for our family and just made it a bit easier for us to understand since this was our first time going through this situation. This funeral is not like other funeral that just treat you like another number, they really took the time to explain everything step by step, and they are bilingual which is very helpful. If I could give this funeral home a -1,000,000 star review I would. Not only is the owner unprofessional, discourteous and rude but also has a complete lack of respect for his clientele and their grief. You would honestly be better off burying your loved one in your back yard than dealing with this awful man’s service. He believes that because he owns 3 funeral homes he is better than everyone whose grief funds his life. If you want to be lied to and swindled and have your family member wait 2 weeks to be buried and have to be re-embalmed come here. Disgusting to make a business out of hassling those in a vulnerable situation and then blaming them for your own lack of courtesy and respect. Aside from the bad business and obvious hatred for his profession, the funeral home itself looks like it is falling apart. You can hear people go to the bathroom which can hardly be called that in the first place, it may as well be an outhouse while you are grieving your loved ones no, not just flushing, you can hear everything.
So I had the worst experience ever. I wish I would’ve booked my dads funeral somewhere else. Joe was recommended by family which obviously is very trusting. Until we got the death certificates. In our meeting I asked if I can get my fathers thumb print and he agreed on getting them. The day of the viewing I asked him to confirm if he got the thumb print, he said yes. Now that I went to get the death certificate he advised me that he didn’t get the thumb prints and it slipped his mind. I understand you can get busy and forget but I had confirm Ed with him twice and now there’s is nothing that can fix that. There’s no sorry or anything that can make this better. My advise to whoever is booking make sure they do what they say they are going to do
If I could leave no STARS I WOULD these employees who work here are very unprofessional and RUDE. My mother had to use the restroom and they tell us the hall restroom is not open that it has chemicals in there. We have come for a funeral service, if they new there was a service at a certain time they should have the restrooms up and running. We had to wait for them to open the doors to let us inside the room. We were all waiting in the front area for them to let us in and we kept ringing the door bell and no one would answer.
