Any hospital visit can be a mixed bag. I was taken via ambulance due to chest pain. A young doctor that joked a lot did the routine heart tests and I was discharged. I subsequently found out by talking to family members that it was probably my gallbaldder. I know I have stones...but never had chest pain before. On Christmas Eve, I had the same issue and called TeleHealth to ask how to mitigate the pain. The nurse advised that, as I'm over 50, I should go to the hospital. The Doctor working in the ER ran a blood test and he and the nurse immediately noted elevated levels in my liver, determined it was probably my gallbladder, and ordered an ultrasound. Still waiting to meet with the surgeon but that's not the fault of the ER. My daughter has had issues for years that rapidly worsened while she was working one day. We took her to the ER and the same doctor that I saw for the second visit immediately noticed that her symptoms are textbook fibromyalgia, asked what specialists she'd seen none - we'd been to our family doctor who had always dismissed her symptoms as puberty, diet, etc... and referred her to a specialist. She has already seen that specialist. As a result, the kid is now on medication that has helped her immensely. We are extremely grateful to that ER doctor. Overall, I would highly recommend Erie Shores Health Care.
Not a single complaint about the level of care provided by any department to my Dad in the past week. However, in the emergency department this morning when I approached the desk to see where he had been taken for testing, 3 people blatantly avoided making eye contact with me after I said good morning. Then the ‘gentleman’ spoke to the other 2 and got up and walked away. Too busy for common courtesy?
The nurse fraction was amazing and thorough. Security guard was helpful and caring walking people to their destination and offering heatedblankets to people not feeling well in the er waiting room.nusrese were very helpful in help loved ones find their family members in the er department.
This hospital is a joke....you wait hours for a doctor to see you even when it's not busy, likely because OHIP is paying by the hour. Went in with a bad gallbladder and they took in someone with a sore throat before me the triage nurse was rude and dismissive of my symptoms
I came this morning at 8.30am ,for a Colonnosopi, has I enter this ladies asked what we are here for, and guide us to the registration room ,she was so nice to us ,that it really touched me,how she was so helpful, the hospital are really Bless to have her, this was March 31 at 8.30 am, I wish I had her name. And also doctor Susan Farooqui ,came to see me just before the procedure, and also Curtis was this young man that prepared me ,also so nice. I just so love Leamington hospital. Ferdinand
Had my shoulder surgery done at this hospital with Dr. Michael McCaffrey. The service was absolutely amazing. The staff from the entry up until checking in was over and above. The care and details left me speechless and super comfortable. From the nurses up to the general anesthesiologist were the best. Stubborn me I went in with out nerve block only because I was nervous. Although they all reassured and comforted me I still refused. Boy did I regret it when I woke up. Thankfully I got the nerve block after the surgery. The pain stopped instantly. Thank you for all the care and detailed attention the staff gave me. Even my follow up call was detailed. They never rushed anything. ***** star and more was well deserved.
Absolutely ridiculous waited 3.5 hrs before even talking to a nurse in excruciating pain er room not even busy and watching nurses laugh and talk about their weekend. No good help out there anymore and they still never fixed any of my issues I came with what a joke
Went to Emerg twice to get a sliver out of my foot. Went through the X-ray, blood work and Ultrasound and not once did the Doctors even thoroughly look at the cut in my foot. Then suggested that I need to see a Surgeon to remove a sliver. For over a month I suffered agony over this. Yesterday a First Aider took 5 minutes to remove the shard of jagged glass out of my foot. Job done. Bandage and topical Antibiotic and I'm good as new. Medical care has deteriorated SO bad; due to so many fears of legal issues, that a simple sliver cannot be removed in minutes. Very, very sad state this Hospital has slumped to. I definitely was not impressed with the medical care received at this facility! Doctors really need to rethink their practice ethics. Nurses were much more sympathetic; but were overruled by Doctors. You can always tell who the doctors are; but you can't tell them much, because their ego affects their hearing. Followup:- A month and a half after the referral to see the Surgeon, the surgeon's office called to see if I still needed my sliver removed. If I were to have waited to get this sliver out by this pathetic Hospital??? It would have taken 2- 1/2 months!!! The ratings this collection of broken toys get under the name of a Hospital is worse than 3rd world countries receive. Absolutely pathetic medical practice! The CEO and the whole Administration staff should be fired on the spot, for running this horrible medical center; because this service has been happily going along like this for years. They have absolutely no shame along with no class at all. This facility is better off being closed, if it cannot be operated in an acceptable condition. What's acceptable, you may ask; read what your community is saying about the service being provided. It sucks big time!!!
Waited 4 hours in the emergency with my son having breathing problems. Only 4 patients before me and I am still waiting for 4 hrs nd still we have not been called. It is pathetic.
Absolutely the worst hospital to go to to get help. My son was really sick when we brought him in the ER. We sat in the waiting room for 4.5 hours before we got to see the doctor. Once it was our turn he didn't run any blood work, no x-ray to check for pneumonia, nothing. Left with no help. The next day we went somewhere else to get help and turned out he had an pneumonia and high level of infection in his body and very low oxygen level and was hospitalized for 4 days plus long recovery at home to get through. I have never had good experience at the leamington hospital, this was the last straw. I'm never going there again. And I dont recommend going there for anything especially if it's an emergency. The doctors and nurses don't care about you, and they aren't friendly either.
