The English Language Institute (ELI) was established by Columbus State University in 2002 to provide English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction for international students and other residents of the Columbus, Georgia and Chattahoochee Valley region. We strive to meet the needs of students whose native language is not English.
The primary purpose of the English Language Institute is to prepare students to:
• Read and write academic-level materials in order to achieve academic success
• Speak more fluently in both formal and informal settings
• Take good, clear notes during lectures
• Take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
Intensive English Levels A1, A2, B1, B2.
Night and summer classes.
Immersion Excursions for International visiting groups.
