I had foot surgery in July. I had excellent care, first starting at the area that you come in. The women were so nice. The volunteer who took me back to get prepped for my surgery was so friendly. Can’t remember his name. The nursing staff and the anesthesiologist was very caring to my needs. They are top notch! My surgery went well with Dr.Sugino. I did well in recovery with my nurse. They went over my instructions and answered my questions. I highly recommend Lee’s Summit Medical Center.
When I arrived the ED was extremely busy, but I was seen quickly and care started immediately although I was in a hall bed. After a few hours I was moved into an ED room where I was made more comfortable. After about 10 hours, I was moved to a room upstairs when one became available. All of the doctors and especially the nurses and technicians whom I dealt with were very kind, friendly and efficient. Everyone was on patient overload but their care and positive attitude never failed. I have been seen in many hospitals over the years. This was one of the best experiences.
I would not recommend bringing a loved one here if they have a life threatening case. There’s no sense of urgency. The hospital is basically ran by nurses. There are basically no doctors that are in house. It’s been 24 hours and my father has not been seen by a doctor. Only nurses.
Go here if you want your loved ones to be treated with disrespect while dying. I had a family member who was in the end stage of life in the ICU. We were not treated with kindness or compassion. I got the call that they were trying to resuscitate my loved one and I could hear the nurses in the background joking and laughing. Absolutely horrendous. My family member had a DNR and yet were being resuscitated. So your wishes won’t be followed.
I had an occasion to go to your ER where I was given excellent care and then was admitted when a room became available. There were some communication gaps, one with housekeeping and another between staff. When I was released from ER to the floor, the room I was assigned to had not been cleaned and I waited in the hall for an hour. Once the head nurse in charge realized that I was sitting in the hall and said that was not acceptable, the housekeeping staff was there immediately and apologized. Then I was scheduled for a procedure Friday morning. The doctor's staff knew what that time was, but the floor staff did not. When they arrived to take me down for the procedure that I had been asking a time for to let my family know, the floor nurses were not even aware. Luckily my husband arrived right after that. Since this procedure involved my heart, was a little disconcerting to me. As I said, the nursing staff is wonderful. And I realize that while I was there, staff was overwhelmed due to shortages.
Excellent care. I had a surgical procedure here and everyone was so kind. I was nervous and the nurses took time to talk to me about what to expect and comforted me. I think I should also mention how clean the facility was. My room was immaculate and nothing was broken, damaged, or outdated. To highlight some of the patient-centered actions of the staff: 1. Admission to the ER was fast and efficient. They got me into a bed within 10 minutes of walking in and admitted and in a room on the med surg floor within 1-2 hours. 2. Pain was managed effectively. 3. Nurses rounded on me frequently, asking if I needed anything or had any pain. I had to call for the nurse ONCE and only because my IV machine was beeping because it needed to be plugged in. Once I pressed the call button the only delay was the time in which it took her to walk to my room 30 seconds, maybe? 4. Dietary came in to offer to help me pick something out from the menu to order for lunch. While it’s not a huge deal, it really highlights the idea of patient -centered care. Again, excellent experience. I work in healthcare and I know the effort it takes to make patient care a top priority. Trust me, you want to go to Lee’s Summit Medical Center.
Everyone for the staff in the ER to the ICU were amazing. My husband came in the ER at 2:00 am having a heart attack. The staff moved quickly and very friendly. Keep us up to date what was going on. Once in ICU the nurses on duty were friendly and had an amazing bedside manner. We both were very pleased with Lee’s Summit medical center
I was extremely pleased with the promptness and quality of the attention that I was given in the emergency room at Lee's Summit Medical Center. I would like to thank Nurse Practitioner, Heather Hampton for her thoroughness in evaluating my symptoms and updating me every step of the way. I truly appreciate that. I definitely felt that my concerns were looked at and handled in a professional and caring matter. Definitely a five-star experience!
I have been to Lee's Summit Medical Center several times, and I keep coming back because I am treated like a special person when I am there. Every person I come in contact with is friendly and always genuinely concerned and caring. From colonoscopies to a brown recluse spider bite, I have been treated with excellence.
When It comes to planned procedures no doubt Lee Summit Medical Center goes above and beyond. However I would stay clear of the Emergency Room!! Most of the team on that night 7/29/23 was pretty horrible. First was Mr Matt in the triage white male, glass, bandana, tattoos Didn’t even try to pronounce my name lucky the place was empty enough for him to point at me and say to my husband “you can bring her in”. Mr. Matt had an attitude never completely listening to my answers as he rudely looks me up and down and with out any prior warning touched me inappropriately and with such unnecessary force, stuck and forced his finger in my upper mid section of my chest, very close to where I was having my pain to ask me where did I get EKG sticker left on my chest from 911 that came to my home earlier that from. In that same instant I crouched further down in the chair and screamed “OW! What are you doing?” My husband jumped up a little and Mr Matt jumped back and pulled his hand back and Amber nurse swooped her head around and just looked shocked. I said clearly it was when I called 911. He then asked what my moms address was to “verify which 911 I called?? After given a room and assigned nurse Amber. Dr Miller came in and tried to force me sit up after I told her I just had surgery a week ago for gallbladder, two hernias and a Linx device implanted. However DR Miller felt it was so preposterous that I could not sit up completely and with out pain???? I yelped as she try to force me in complete sit up position which for me was Not possible yet with out pain. The X-ray tech was just as insensitive suggesting I NEED to push more further than physically capable!!?? Like really people?? The ONLY person that was helpful was the one person I can’t remember her name and I am actually upset about it, was the technician that did my CAT scan. Please someone give her a raise and or some recognition! A true Angel! I did tell my nurse Amber about how I felt about what Mr Matt did in Triage but she simply apologized to me on his behalf and how he should know better as for women present symptoms of chest and arm pain with heart attack. After my last labs were done around 9pm, I was told no more than another 30min for results. However I fell asleep and woke back up around midnight to 1am ish. Woke my husband and asked if anyone came in he said NO. So by this point aim feeling better, just enough to go home. I pressed the call button yet it took a good 15-20min before anyone answered so that I can asked to be discharged already. Dr Miller came in quickly to say she was making sure there was no infection and then talks about some issue with another patient, seemed like she was about to cry then said “I’ll get your paperwork together.” That was it!! I did tell my primary what happened in my follow up on Wednesday and plan on letting Dr. Lehr know as well on my follow up on Monday afternoon! Once again I will say…. As long as you have a planned visit I love being at Lee Summit Medical Center just think twice before going to their ER. This is the 1st awful experience in my two years in KC versus having put up with similar behavior Massachusetts all my life. I will say KC health still better treatment than Mass. Hands down.
