Good, hearty southern breakfast. Excellent service, no wait on a holiday. Not sure if there's much more to ask for. No hipsters in sight. If you want a delicious, filling meal and no frills and reasonable prices, come here! We had the chicken fried steak with fruit instead of potatoes and a biscuit and the gumbo. Both were great, perfectly seasoned and delicious. The biscuits were enormous, savory served with house made jams. Beignets were tasty, but not as light and fluffy as you can get in New Orleans. Coffee was hot, and service was great. Highly recommend.
Betty and the crew of “Leenie’s Cafe” take care of your every need when you visit to enjoy some of their amazing delicious treats & meals they make by hand!! This has become a staple of the Longmont area due to the the greatness and delight fullness that they bring every single time I visit or I take of friends, Colleagues and business associates. AWESOME SERVICE & food ALL-AROUND ‼‼
Omg run don't walk to this place. The gumbo I had for lunch was phenomenal and authentic and the beignets were actually BETTER than those at cafe du monde in new Orleans. The biscuit was the best I've ever eaten in my life and the eggs Benedict with eggplant instead was amazing. And all with amazing service and a reasonable price I'll be driving up to Longmont just for this amazing creole food!
Wow, this place blew us away! You can tell the food is made with love from scratch. The service was great and everything was delicious. I really liked the atmosphere, very homey. I had the trout breakfast and my wife had the corned beef hash. Excellent. Pancakes with the homemade cinnamon syrup was out of this world! The jam was delectable. Our server was attentive and fast and even though we overheard another table being super demanding and making lots of special requests that had her running back and fourth bringing them stuff, she had a great attitude. And lastly the prices are unbeatable. This will be our go to spot from now on.
Very kid friendly and the menu is good; I love the red bean omelet. They even have a box of toys for kids and they let them take one to the table, so it's a good place to meet for families. They have a wide variety of food and always have good service. On my past few visits, though, the biscuits were hard and tasteless. It's a shame because they used to be really good.
The service was great, quick but not in any way like they were trying to get us gone as quickly as possible, and pleasantly friendly. The gravy was great and there was a generous portion of it. The hash browns were perfect for what I like - crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside. The biscuit was soft and spongy, different from what I am used to, but very good. The jam was perfect on it, as it was not cloyingly sweet, but actually just a little tart. I would definitely recommend this place, and I will definitely be back.
Service was great! The food was not however. Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Just wasn't thrilled with what I got to eat. Not to say other menu items aren't good. I got biscuts and gravy. Very dry biscuits and bland gravy. My daughter got french toast and she loved it and I had a bite and it was good. Maybe if I go here again I'll try something different.
It's not fancy, but it's bright, cheerful, and perfectly adequate. Super friendly staff. This isn't the place for fresh-squeezed juice or organic maple syrup I'm pretty sure the syrup was of the corn variety, but the banana chocolate french toast hit the spot, and the grocery-store grapefruit juice was just fine. Their house-mixed cinnamon pancake syrup was pretty tasty. They also had a nice variety of tea. I'd probably go back.
The red beans and rice is as if they took a can of less-sweet pork and beans it was small beans like Great Northern beans, not reds or kidney beans, warmed it slightly and dumped the whole can's worth on a scoop of rice. Not a shred of green pepper or onion in it - just mushy beans. Then they let it cool on the counter while they prepared the rest of the table's orders so it'd be especially lukewarm. Maybe their other 'southern' dishes are better, but shy away from this menu item that for most restaurants is so easy to make from scratch. Why didn't I send it back? I was dumbfounded, couldn't believe they served it and I don't like people who make a scene in a restaurant. And the coffee was very good.
Stopped in here for a quick lunch and was not disappointed. My kids each had the Mickey Mouse pancakes—the homemade syrup is amazing. I had the tuna melt and ate every bite. Sarah served us with a smile and checked in with us regularly. I definitely recommend!
