A small recreation center next to the highway. There is a playground, basketball courts and a baseball field. There is an indoor recreation building with restrooms but when I visited, a few homeless people used it as a shelter and the place looks quite unpleasant.
Basketball is a nice sport to play there. family park with fitness facilities. decent parking decent park personnel. There, children play in good behavior.
Amazing!! Baseball field, basketball courts, playground, and so much more!! Gorgeous park!!
this place is disgusting there's trash every where, the playground is filthy, and the staff are extremely rude and sometimes even lie to you
Very bullish Hispanic crowd. Disrespectful of every rule. Blatantly vending in front of no vending sign. Ruining a nice park with trash and food remnants.
I live less than 1 mile from this park but hardly ever go because when I do I always feel like something is just boiling under the surface and it's about to erupt. Tagging all over the place and sketchy gang type looking people seem to always be lurking nearby. I have 2 kids and the playground and bathroom seem to be hit or miss as to when they are open. Lastly, this park is directly next to a very busy freeway which means all the toxic brake dust and exhaust pollution easily finds its way into the park. I would love to hang out here more often but sadly there are better, safer feeling parks not too far away.
Lemon Grove is a great little neighborhood park. The playground is currently closed because of the pandemic and maybe that's why the basketball hoops are gone too? but the park has a bunch of big rocks/boulders in it, so there's still fun to be had for a toddler. The park was fairly busy today, but there's enough space that people were able to social distance easily. Great to see families with kids of all ages enjoying the space, as well as adults using the exercise equipment and the little track that goes around the park.
Big park tons of execrcise equipment, kid park is locked for some reason. 4 basketball hoops and water fountains.
It sure has cleaned up a lot. I've lived in the area for about 20 years, great place to hang out and watch people play basketball, have a cookout, or to take your kids and let them run around in the playground and have some fun. Definitely feels a lot Cleaner and Safer nowadays
An old school nice neighborhood park, for me. Not recommended for West L.A. type people though. I'm not referring to race there, but to your vibe. Usually not that dangerous during the day besides early morning, but be aware of what's going on around you. Obviously most parks in L.A. are dangerous after-hours and early in the morning up to let's say 9:00 am when there're more people around. I've been visiting this park since the mid or early 1980s. My neighborhood park as a kid and teen, and still my neighborhood park. The park's area was greatly expanded in the year 2001, after the city bought a home or two and an apartment building or two which were adjacent to the former border of the park, and demolished them. That's old school knowledge. Used to smoke weed here with my friends, and drink alcohol - containing beverages. Among other things. Actually I still sometimes smoke weed and drink alcohol-containing beverages here. Don't tell the fuzz.
