We went this evening and had a good time. 3 adults and a child. Good, prompt and smiling service, great prices. The bread is wonderful, according to those of us who ate it stupid me, coming to a bakery when I eat paleo!. The $11 charcuterie plate and the $11 fruit/cheese plates are very good values; one of those and the bread would make a fine meal by itself. The $6/glass wine list is full of good values, and the pours are generous. I had the mussels for $10, and they gladly substituted my fries with a good small side salad. The only reason this gets 3 instead of 4 stars was the exceptionally disappointing French onion soup, something I've had here, in France, and made myself; this was exceedingly bland a surprise, given the silky smooth and garlic-rich broth the moules were steamed in, with no discernable onion flavor, and tasted more like lipton mix than anything else. The dessert we had a chocolate croissant was very good, apparently, and the 4 year old demolished her piece. Also - they have EXCELLENT beers on tap and reasonable prices there too. Good Belgians and American microbrews Racer 5, Boont and Berryessa were on tap tonight, plus the usual Belgians. A very good value for the price, definitely, and a friendly and welcoming room. The space itself is perfect. I'll definitely be back - haven't had such perfect and fresh mussels in awhile, and the steak au poivre is reported to be perfect. Nice to have another place like this in East Sacramento; now, with this, Juno, Vanilla Bean, Formoli, this is turning into a really good foodie area.
The tri-tip sandwich ~8$ was good, albeit a bit overcooked, with a delicious yet small side salad. Decent IPA beer. The raspberry scone was yummy too : Staff was attentive, friendly.
The décor is interesting and the people are nice. The patio is great for good weather dining. Dog friendly patio. I like their Guyer and pear sandwich with comes with a dish of fresh fruit.
Just tried their scones. Very tasty! They also claim they serve breakfast all day. All day! Definitely going back to try. :
The tri tip sandwich is over the top delicious as is the fusion salad. Excellent service too.
I shop my bread every weeks in this backery. The french baguette is good however the staff is very unfriendly.
The food is fabulous and the bakery bread out of this world. A+++++++++
The French Onion soup is wonderful--classic French with a crust of Gruyere and very reasonably priced at $7 a bowl with house-baked bread. Recently I had the daily special, Asparagus Soup, and it was the best I ever had. Really! Every thing I've ever tried here was first rate and affordable including the wines.
Wasn't expecting a wine bar cafe bistro and bakery all in one. Very good food, the bread is very very good. THANKS!
