Excellent doctors, but this practice has a policy in place that you cannot have lab work done until after your appointment. This policy prevents the patient from reviewing personally with the doctor their lab results. It leads to lack of communication, interferes with the doctor patient relationship, and can result in medication changes without the patient being given a thorough explanation why the change was necessary. Happened to me twice. Because this policy puts the patient’s best interests last and behind those of the business I will not recommend this business to anyone. However, if you just need medical attention and no lab work is involved, every doctor I’ve seen with Family Associates is an excellent physician. I feel this policy regarding lab work is beyond the doctor’s control.

I had been going there for about 15 years but it has really gone downhill. They do not contact you with important information and it is difficult to get in touch with them when you need something. The last straw was when I got tested for a UTI. They said they would let me know if it was positive. It was and they did not contact me.   I finally contacted them several days later and only then did they call in an antibiotic. No apologies or anything. They really don’t care about their patients at all. I really didn’t want to go through the hassle of switching, but they left me no choice.

I started as a patient with this practice in 2006. This week I walked out of my wellness exam and will never return.  You will not be allowed to have labs done before your check-up. Their policy is to have it done afterward. So instead of discussing your results with your doctor, you will discuss them over the phone with a nurse. Or they will simply appear in the patient portal online with no follow-up whatsoever- that’s what they did to me last year.

Family Practice Associates is a horrible practice! You do NOT want to go there!  They don’t care about their patients AT ALL. They will earn your trust and then stab you in the back.  And then stab you again.  The ultimate betrayal.  Avoid an appointment with Shelby Riggs at all costs!  Find yourself a real doctor and don’t settle for a totally unprofessional APRN!  You will regret it!   I would give them a big fat ZERO stars if I could!

I really like my doctor and most of the nurses there are pretty friendly. The only one that's unpleasant is the Indian nurse who I believe is "Rayben"?? I'm not sure, I didn't catch her name. She was sour, unfriendly and cold. However the other nurses were very kind and polite. The location is fine, I usually don't have issues here except for that one nurse.

I see Aletia Farmer here sometimes and she’s awesome! The staff is friendly for the most part. Only 4 stars bc I had a bad experience once with the walk-in clinic and it is very hard to get in to see your provider but others will usually have availability. They also ran out of a vial needed for a blood draw once and never contacted me when it came in. I had to go back to the next visit without the result and try again. But compared to other places I’ve been, this is really minor. All in all I def recommend.

DO NOT GO TO MARY OAKS. First time I went to her with a mild infection that she ignored and told me to give it time to see if it resolved.  3 days later  gotten worse, I called and messaged 5 times with zero response. I got in with another provider who got me treated right away but it has turned into a more serious problem.  Most recently  didn't know I was scheduled with her I went in for ongoing vertigo. She said " just wait it out." Offered zero solutions but calling in zofran, which she never did. I had to get another doctor to call in the meds. AGAIN I had to see a different provider who immediately referred me to physical therapy.  I don't know if Oaks simply doesn't care, or if she's lacking very common medical knowledge. At this point I wouldn't trust her to open a bandaid for me.

Been a patient for 22 years.  Ended my services last week after a poor interaction with them over the phone.  Used to be a great practice.  Moving over to Baptist.

Doctors are good, though the practice is set up more inclined towards making money than patient care. Need to earn patients trust. My Dr. did not change my dose based on my lab work results  only one medicine that I take, office should have called in refill for next 6 months per Dr. But no, they required an appointment for patient to hear the Dr.notes in person why, so they can bill for more money. It’s an in going battle with this practice. They are focus on “How can they Bill for more “and make more money

I have been a patient of Dr. Susan Monahan for years, but apparently she hasn’t the time to answer my questions relayed through her nursing staff! When a physician becomes more important than her patient… She needs to retire!!!! I was told “to make an appointment and that she wasn’t sure she had the answers!” WHY BOTHER!!! Really????
