Had an accident on 10/05/2021 and have waited a week for the officer to approve the report. I have called and walked down to the station to see if it would move any faster, that was not the case. This stuff needs to be handled at a timely manner and so people aren’t waiting a week or longer to get a report. Thanks officer Lyon for taking your sweet time on getting the report. Sincerely an extremely irritated person.
I’m friends with a younger woman who escaped a potential abduction at Henry Clay. I had to call Lexington Police twice to get someone to send an officer to the scene. When he arrived he said: “Sometimes women call the cops because someone hit on them at Texas Roadhouse” and that he was unaware of the severity of this situation. I am infuriated and disappointed by the lack of professionalism and compassion within this department, especially when someone’s life is at stake. It shouldn’t matter if it’s a young child, adult woman, or girl at Texas Roadhouse; Lexington Police needs to be present and willing to serve its community.
Had my car broke into. Called to have a report done. We waited over 2 hours on the interstate. We received one call in reference to officer safety. Ok, reasonable, but what about our safety while we wait for you to respond?! Low priority call = we'll get there whenever we feel like it. Total disrespect for people. I have NEVER had a good experience with Lexington PD.
I called about a car blocking the road and was polite in letting the lady know on the phone. I told her nicely that I wasn't going to go ask the people to move, because nowadays you don't know what you might face. She nastily said 'I didn't ask you to do that!" Umm..I wasnt nasty to you so why the disrespect?? Wow.
Absolutely disgraceful! You could have killed a newborn baby James Cooper! You could have handled that situation so much differently but chose violence against a woman of color who had just given birth! Disgusting! These actions are backed by your chief! Your dept. has a history of racial intolerance. This is 2021! Wake up! Officers like you make the good ones look bad and invoke anger and fury among the masses. Now the baby apparently has caught covid and has a very bad diaper rash. Hope you’re happy.
I was involved in a car accident on new circle rd where my truck was totaled. My husband and I were both injured. The officers handling the wreck never asked either one of us if we needed medical attention. They made me feel like I was a criminal.and they was working a robbery instead of an accident. I was handed 1 peice of paper with a report # and told in 5 days I could get my police report. On that paper it tells you to go online, pay $10 to get it or come pick it up for $5. I called them and even spoke to one of the officers. I was trying to get the girls insurance information so I could get a rental car and have the info I need to report the accident. I got nothing but an attitude and gave another website to try bc buycrash.com never sent the report to my email like the site says. I tried Lexingtonpolice.ky.gov like I was told and that page won't load. I've done had to wait the entire 5 days and now have to go in person to pick it up. My truck is totaled therefore I have to figure out how to get there. I am a victim and was treated like a criminal. I am mentally drained, not only bc of my wreck, more so bc of the treatment I received and the lack of compassion. Their procedures are all wrong and I feel like I shouldn't have to wait 5 DAYS, pay $10 and get a run around on how to get the information I need to be compensated from an accident where I am the victim.
Professional and they work hard to keep us safe. The increase in crime and gun violence is a direct result of a lack of support and respect for law enforcement. Thank you LPD
Saturday afternoon a car backed out of my neighbors driveway and some how lost control of their car striking my sons car which was parked at the curb... totaling it out. They hit it so hard that it pushed it up on the curb and into a telephone pole. They then proceeded to leave the scene leaving behind pieces of their own car. Luckily for us a different neighbor got the whole thing on camera. We thought that that was going to identify the driver of the car, you know since not only did we have a description of the car but we also know whose house that it had been at. When we contacted the Fayette County Police, we were told that since the license plate was not visible they were unable to identify the driver... so the video was useless. What is useless is the Police Department, I am very disappointed with them, I guess the Police only investigate crimes on TV.
My car quit on a busy new Circle intersection. Before I could call Triple A, officer Tyler Johnson was there and pushed my car off the road. He then volunteered to take my elderly in-laws to their doctors appointment across town while I dealt with my car. Above and beyond Officer Johnson!!
I just called this in to say thank you to two wonderful officers for their duty tonight. So I have had a 18 hour work day, I pulled off into a Shell station to send a long text to a friend of mind 3 more after that. During those texts somebody called me in because they thought I was slumped over the steering wheel, lol I thought I was pretty relaxed, wish I had a picture. These two young officers that responded did a wonderful job and their conduct was amazing. So thank you for insuring that all was okay. Also for the person that called me in, thank you for looking out even though your judgement was off center. This is how our system should work, we should never be offended by those who are looking out for one another. It is always about morals, respect, and ethics. Please remember do not text and drive, do not let this experience detour you from doing so. This happened at 3:30 AM and by all right there was concern since I spent around 10 minutes sending out four messages. Again thank you all!
