If zero stars was an option I would have chose that. We purchased our FIRST home from LGI in Liberty Hill in February of this year. Upon closing, we noticed the grass behind our house, along what LGI calls a "greenbelt" county road was extremely tall. It has gotten to the point where it is as tall as our fence and is growing through the fence pickets. It has not been mowed since we lived here. LGI seems to thinks they don't own that easement, after speaking with the mayor of Liberty Hill which is a family friend, he showed us the property plat map where it clearly shows LGI Homes as owning that. LGI Construction Manager Elliot Drevdahl, basically told us that he doesn't want to send his guys back there to mow it because thew old man that lives over there is crazy. Long story short, this is LGI's responsibility and they need to get it taken care of. I have seen 2 rattlesnakes and my neighbor has seen one too. In the event that my dog or one of my kids gets bit by a snake due to neglect from the "largest homebuilder in America" i will see through with it personally that it goes to court. I work for the ACTUAL largest homebuilder in America, I understand how this works.
LGI Homes is the worst builder we've ever had the dissatisfaction of working with, and it's our first home. Nothing but incompetence everywhere. After we signed to have our house built, we got absolutely no communication from anyone about anything. The salesman didn't know anything about the properties, didn't have answers, and would shut down after a few questions. Closing date was set only to be pushed back another couple of months, and when the time came to close they STILL weren't finished building. Closing took about 2 hours, not sure if that's normal or not, and even after that they were still painting the inside. Came back later that NIGHT to lock up and we were given the wrong keys. We called management and who couldn't careless about getting us the right set. Spoke with the project manager and when he came to the house he had attitude about working 9n a Saturday, as if it was our fault. He ended up changing our locks and gave us the rights of keys. After that we had a long discussion telling him how we felt about LGI and the whole process to which he sympathized. Austin chapel, the project manager, apologized and took full responsibility for the incompetence. Which was redeeming and set us at ease....for a bit. We had a door that was to be replaced to which he told us to our faces he would take care of himself. It's been almost 2 months and we've not heard a word from him. I don't know if LGI is this bad anywhere else, but don't take your chances. It's nothing but stress
Really nice homes! Be on them extremely hard to clean up details because they'll say whatever to get you to sign. Don't be like me and listen to their promises of what will be taken care of the day of signing the papers. Then I signed and now I have a list of work orders. They promised me they would have the blue tape things ready that day. Rookie mistake on my part. They are quota driven but you are going into your home. Slow them down and get what you need.
I do not, and will not live here. The Sales Rep was very nice until we were unwilling to have our credit pulled before even seeing the inside of one of their homes. We had requested to see a specific property multiple times, and were then taken to a home we had made perfectly clear we were NOT interested in. After viewing the home and asking to see the one we had requested to view multiple times, we were then told we could not see any of the larger homes until they pulled our credit and got us prequalified. Being in the Mortgage Industry, I am well aware of pre-qualifications, and why builders like them. However, for a company / community to require this before even showing a home is sleazy, and frankly horrible customer service. They have lost our business forever. Not to mention, the home we did view which the sales agent could barley shove the door open to see inside was extremely low end, and felt like a crappy apartment, it was just awfulI. I hope others look to other builders and communities that have quality products before getting sucked into the low pricing trap of this community.
So I spoke to someone last night about rentals here and I was told last night there were rentals available. I had an appointment to see the houses and guess what? No rentals. I spent 35 minutes listening to some guy try to sell me a house. It felt like I was at a used car lot and some guy was trying to sell me a junker. The community itself is nice but the houses are literally on top of one another and it’s in the middle of liberty hill. There are no stores nearby and it’s nothing but housing communities and fields around it. If something seems to good to be true, it usually is and this is a clear example of “bait & switch.”
My husband and I just started looking for homes yesterday and this was one of our stops. Dan showed us a number of houses which was great. He did take the time to talk to us. However, the quality of the homes are very poor, the countertops and flooring are cheap and there are no other options. What you see is what you get. Also, there were bugs everywhere...hanging from the ceilings, crawling on the floor. Very disgusting. Once we got back to the information center, Dan wanted us to fill out a pre-qualification form which we were not ready to do so he could check and see what discounts we qualify for. He went back into his office. My husband had a question and saw Dan making obscene gestures to his coworkers indicating that he was going to close this deal. All of the coworkers were laughing and obviously became embarrassed once they saw my husband. Very unprofessional and low quality. Do not waste your time.
Very upsetting! I’m moving from Houston to Austin and scheduled an appointment with Rich. I specifically asked if they had homes to rent, even going as far as to confirm if they offered 6month-1 year leases, he assured me that they did. Beyond that all of their ads online offered homes to RENT for 6month. We set up an appointment, drove in from Houston, upon arrival they said they did NOT offer any homes to rent. This is appalling to me, they literally lie to get you in the door and try and con you into buying a house. Terrible customer service and sales tactic, very unhappy and disappointed in this company.
I received great customer service when I came to look at the houses here. The sales rep was very personable and took me out to see two of their homes. The homes are very well finished and would be great starter homes. Will be back when we are ready to buy.
