The School of Business at Liberty University is distinct in several ways, and yet in other ways it is like any other excellent school that prepares young men and women to be leaders in Business and Accounting positions.
This school offers two majors: Accounting and Business. A Business major may choose to specialize in Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing, Human Resource Management, or International Business.
The strengths of this school include the following:
First, of the 27 full-time faculty in the school, over 95% have earned terminal degrees or are completing work on those degrees, and consequently have excellent credentials in their discipline. Moreover, each has extensive teaching experience in the classroom.
Second, each faculty member has served in the professional world, from service as a practicing Certified Public Accountant to work with major professional business organizations to leadership within the U.S. military. Therefore, in addition to academic excellence our students will find relevant experience.
Third, each faculty member has professed a dynamic faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Many serve as officers in their respective churches, and at least one is a pastor. These individuals are concerned for the "whole student"--intellectual, social, physical and spiritual.
Lastly, Liberty University is a teaching university, meaning that faculty in the School of Business are concerned with a student's mastering the academic material and applying that material to his or her future profession. In addition, faculty are committed first and foremost to the individual student before research and publishing; leading to opportunities to pray with students, counsel students and mentor students, activities that occur regularly in the classroom, in the office, in the home or in places where the student feels most comfortable.
