The hotel is one of our favorites when passing through. The handicapped room was perfect with the roll in shower. Very clean. Air worked great 90+ outside Chili's is literally just out the front door. Would have given 5 stars but...the Continental breakfast was chaos. Went down 1 morning at 9. No cups for coffee. Hardly anything out. Lady who was complaining that "every weekend people wait to the minute to come in still had an hour left of breakfast. Second morning, coffee was cold, English muffins frozen still took back to our room to microwave to be able to put in the toaster. But other than that, the rest of the staff was very friendly.
I have many pleasant experiences with business, I also see things that should probably be spoken on when it comes to a business that goes the extra mile. But usually I just don't take the time to. However, I encountered something at this hotel that hit really close to home and I had to say something. While the rooms, staff, breakfast etc were all top notch. When I walked out the rear by the pool to go to my car and saw the pool hover lift, I almost broke down in tears. As someone who's worked in nursing homes and had a quadriplegic father I know these are not only expensive but life changing. Your investment to be inclusive as well as provide access to an activity that strengthens both physically and mentally the people who utilize these devices is something I've never seen and was truly emotional over. It absolutely took you to the top of my list of hotels I will always look for on my many travels even if it means going out of my way a bit or paying a little extra. I intend to tell every one I know, I'm not sure if each is privately owned or this is a company wide practice, I do hope so :, but just that one made an impression that will stick with me for years to come and has acquired my loyalty as a customer. I look forward to the next visit. And I'll be saving extra just for the pleasure of staying at your hotels and supporting the most inclusive and community supportive hotel around . Thank you again. I wish my father could have enjoyed things like that before he passed! You give me hope Food & drinks: The complimentary breakfast was amazing. Plenty of options. Only suggestion, maybe two waffle makers, due to so many guests at one time.
This was the lowest quality SpringHill Suites I have ever experienced. I assume this may be a good stay for flights but it was not what I expected from Marriott. I arrived about 6pm and waited for a very long time at the reception desk before anyone showed up so do Marriott mobile check-in/key. There was a non working ice machine, broken desk chair, filthy dirt covered stained sofa, outdated worn furniture, dust everywhere with a musty odor in the room. The room is past due for an upgrade. Put the do not disturb on your door! Check out is 12pm but I got a housekeeping knock at about 10:30am. Bed and towels were clean and comfortable so it sufficed. This was not worth the cost I paid. I regret choosing to stay here since I was just traveling not flying.
I pulled up to the hotel at 11:30pm after a 13 hour drive. The electric doors were off but not locked so I proceeded to slide them open and walk in. Chance, the night attendant, came out from behind the desk and verbally began to chastise me for opening the door. “You don’t need to open our doors like that. You are a security breach! Don’t open our doors!” WOW what a greeting! I was astonished that he treated me like a criminal and before I even got to the front desk. I politely asked what I should have done? He said, “Read the sign!” I asked what sign???? He never showed me any sign. There was a placard on the side wall behind the luggage carts that was completely out of view! From there I asked him if I was the guest? To which he responded “I don’t know if I want you as a guest!” I said excuse me? From there the entire conversation went down hill. Chance didn’t want to acknowledge me as a guest because opening the door to get into the hotel was an act of rudeness not to mention a security breach to him. By this time I just wanted a room for my 9 and 18 year old daughters. Well customer service king Chance was not having it. He REFUSED to check me in because I asked him if I was the guest after he treated me like a Terrorist for sliding the unlocked front door open to get into the hotel. After 20 minutes of saying can we just get beyond this and check me in he continued to deny me service because he was offended! I guess how I felt as a guest didn’t matter and after a 13 hour drive!! I told him I would leave a poor review if he didn’t check me in, but that didn’t phase him for he said, “If that’s all you’re going to do so what!” Can you believe this guy, Chance, even has a job with an attitude like that! He never cracked a smile the whole time just shaking and scowling from the get go. My recommendations would be to stay as far from this hotel as possible. Management needs to fire and rehire at least the night help if anyone! I have a family member that works for a national news channel that would love a story like this one!! American citizen denied hotel room from cranky non-American hotel night attendant!!! After watching him struggle to cancel my reservation he called their corporate reservation desk and handed me the phone to cancel the room. The reservation specialist couldn’t believe that Chance was being so rude and apologized over and over for his lack of customer service. After the man on the phone successfully canceled the reservation I politely said good night. As I walked out the door I mentioned to Chance that if he didn’t want people opening the door at night because he was afraid of criminals then he should LOCK the doors and put a sign ON THE DOOR not the side wall WITH ENTRANCE INSTRUCTIONS. By the way they still have Covid19 signs up at this hotel, probably to make Chance feel better about social distancing. So how are the rooms? Who cares with service like that. So I went up the street to the Hilton and received phenomenal service by the young lady on night duty!! A complete world of difference and for the BETTER at the Hilton. I hope this helps any future guests make a better decision, like stay away! As for Chance… I know he doesn’t care about this bad review but you may!! Blessings!
Lauren was working the front desk was very welcoming and friendly. She provided a rapid check-in and even treats for our dog and us. We had a pleasant conversation, and she is the epitome of Southern hospitality. If she is not the manager, she should be! Excellent service!!! I will be back!Rooms: 4/5
We stayed one night as a family of five. We checked in around 830pm. When we went to our room, one of the first things I did was check the sheets and noticed that one of the sheet had mascara on the pillowcase and several unsavory stains on the bedding. I called the front desk and they gave me the option to get new linens and change the bedsheets or switch rooms. Since it was late and I had three young kids with me, decided to change the bedsheets as that would be the easiest route to get kids ready for bed quicker versus having to start re-pack everything to move. After I changed the bedsheets, I also noticed there was stains on the mattress cover. I had to remove this as well, but housekeeping did not have an available mattress cover for me to use so they gave me additional sheets to lay down. I pulled out the trundle bed to use, but when I pulled it out, there was food, wrappers and crumbs, all under the bed and a brown stain on the mattress. This was quite unappealing and decided to let one of the kids sleep in the bed with an adult. also I didn’t notice until later that there was black mold, growing along the top of the shower, tile and pink mildew in the corners and around the drains. Pink mildew does not show up in between guest and this is obvious signs of neglect. I’m really disappointed in this hotel. We will not be returning. Addendum 5/31/23: We were contacted by the GM, Steve. We had a good chat about our experience and he agrees that our visit fell short of what should be expected. I sincerely appreciate him taking the time to hear our concerns and hopefully our experience will be an outlier. For anyone reading this review and questioning booking or not, I’d say give this location a chance. The staff we met during our stay was kind and I appreciate Steve’s enthusiasm to correct the issues we had so everyone can have an enjoyable stay in the future.
Springhill suites are my favorite, but this one is the best. It’s in a great location, but the staff and cleanliness or what make this place deserve the five stars. I want to give a special shout out to a young woman at the front desk named Jovie. She is always so courteous and happy to help answer questions. I don’t need a glamorous hotel. I just need friendly, helpful staff, a very clean room with good amenities, and a good safe location. This place fits the bill.
While I may point out some less than stellar items about my stay make no mistake that my experience and the suites were top notch for the price point. Some may find some of the downsides to be important, or not. First...exceptionally clean and well maintained hotel with helpful, cheerful and efficient staff. Suites are thoughtfully designed with lots of room, large bath area, large desk and a level of privacy between the sitting area and the bed area. The small wet bar area with sink, refrigerator, microwave and shelves to store things was wonderful. Lots of lighting was also great. It is across from the regional airport and our suite was on the back side of hotel and I only heard a couple of bigger jets take off during the 3 days we were there. The room is sound proofed much better than many hotels I have stayed in. Pets were allowed during my stay with a $75.00 fee and are supposed to be under 20lbs but I saw much larger dogs there. Breakfast had number of hot selections with many items being prepackaged. There was also cold selections of cereal, yogurt, milk, fruit and hard boiled eggs. Noted downsides; pillows and linens are worn and have lost their fluffiness, mattress is mostly firm, no pet waste stations, no place to throw away large trash entrance trash cans are tiny, hotel is yards away from busy and noisy 29N, when items at breakfast were gone they were not refilled promptly even though there was an attendant monitoring seemed to be rationing portions, swimming pool is mostly a joke..about as large as an oversized spa and when more then 4 people in it...it is overloaded. Too bad during our stay a traveling youth baseball team took over the entire pool area to include the area around excluding any other guests from use. Next thing I saw was a drained pool. Do not stay for the pool and if you are there and get to use pool consider yourself lucky.
Traveling party of 5. Hotel was very convenient, located close to Liberty University and plenty of shops and restaurants. The hotel was clean and staff were super friendly. Room was nice and stocked with everything needed. Breakfast had everything you’d need to get your day started. The gentleman tending the breakfast chaos was really nice as well. Pool and pool area was clean but small. I’d visited here again.
