Lisa Shelton is a Myofascial Therapist trained in the John Barnes technique of myofascial release. Lisa began her career in Staunton, Va as a physical therapist specializing in sports medicine. After years of working with this population, she began to see where conventional physical therapy was lacking for a large population dealing with chronic soft tissue pain. She was introduced to John Barnes, PT and began integrating his treatment style into her physical therapy practice. Through the years, the response to this approach has been so significant that Lisa elected to attend the Shenandoah Valley School of Therapeutic Massage and Body Work to broaden her understanding of the soft tissue system. To allow for the general public to access myofascial release treatment, Lisa opened a private practice providing myofascial release and craniosacral therapy in downtown Staunton, VA to serve the needs of Staunton, Waynesboro, Charlottesville, and Harrisonburg. She also has started a blog on her website lisasheltonpt.com to educate both patients and the general public about this form of soft tissue work.
