Lonestar Charlies Family Restaurant

This is exactly the type of diner I’m looking for when I’m exploring small towns. True family atmosphere, friendly service, and their breakfast tastes like your grandma made it. Make sure you have some of the biscuits and gravy. Simply delicious!Food: 5/5

Friendly diner, Miss Gail waitress was friendly and kept our tea glasses full. grilled chicken salad, basic iceberg lettuce, cheese, cherry tomatoes, and boiled egg. French fries were hot and good. Kids chicken n fries was really good. Hubby had a burger said it was good. Womens bathroom very clean. Everytime we went to bathroom they were being cleaned. I just wished there was a sign out stating someone was cleaning. We went on a non busy time Fri@4pm. They have daily lunch specials from 11-5pm. We had peach cobbler and ice-cream for dessert, yum yummy. Parking is tight. Parking: Tight,

Bigger than you'd expect on the inside; lots of seating and clean. We came for breakfast and the food was great! Prices are cheaper or comparable to Denny's. Our waitress was also personable, but we waited over 40mins for our food. We're both average size adults yet it was difficult getting in and out of the booth because the chairs were so close to the table. Parking was also kind of a mess, but that's more to do with clueless drivers.

I recently visited Lone Star Charlie’s twice in one week, and both times had great food and service. I had breakfast each time, but had different things both times. Their French toast is really good- some of the best I have ever had. I had two different waitresses, both polite, professional and friendly. Worth the visit- at least for breakfast.

Great little place to stop and get a quick dinner style breakfast or lunch. We stopped in the morning and had a huge breakfast. The staff is welcoming friendly. The server was attentive and a nice. The restrooms needed to be cleaned but overall the restaurant was clean. The food was tasty well and made. The bacon what is the perfect amount of crispy with a little chew. The locals all had a rapport with the staff. As you can hear their ongoing conversation and the regulars knew what they wanted as they walked in. Worth of something for passing through.

The Chili Burger was Great and the fried zucchini was ausome. There's not many classic diners like this one left. Great food and service. Close to Lake Livingston State park.Food: 5/5

I regretfully only tried this place for the first time a couple weeks ago. I have been missing out for two years! The food was absolutely delicious. The only place I've ever been to serve fried zucchini. I love zucchini and not a lot of restaurants offer any dishes with it. It was amazing. The breading was crisp and the squash soft but not mushy. My husband is a picky egg eater, they must be over medium- white done, but yellow runny. He doesn't salt and pepper his eggs at restaurants until he tastes them to make sure the whites are done enough. But he did on these, he said he didn't have to taste them, they were literally perfect. I don't even like mine over medium, but they were beautiful! The best fried eggs he has had in any other local restaurant ever. I got the healthy choice omelet and added bacon. Again, perfection. You can tell the cook cares about the food they're serving, it's like a home cooked meal at Grandma's house. Y'all stole our hearts and our stomachs. We will definitely be back.

Glad we stopped by today, got the buck fifty upgrade to Texas sized Chicken Fried Steak w/steak fries. Wow, just wow! Our server was super friendly and attentive. Restaurant had that nostalgic country feel and even had a payphone :Food: 5/5
