"The Long Beach Museum of Art was founded in 1950 as a municipal art center for the city of Long Beach. Since its inception, the Museum has been housed in the historic 1911 Elizabeth Milbank Anderson House. In 1957, the Anderson House was designated as the Long Beach Museum of Art, at which time the Museum began acquiring a permanent collection. In 2020, LBMA celebrated 70 years of collecting, exhibiting, and championing visual arts."

There are places to eat brunch and beverages outside the Museum. We have go to the opening hours Friday and can sit without the Waiting. The employees are very kind and ocean view is so beautiful. Food was so delicious. We didn't see the museum because the child was so sleepy. I want to see the inside of the museum next time.
Shot Joseph and Julie’s wedding here great venue. The staff are excellent. Food was great! Be sure to check out the balcony area above the ceremony location for some epic sunset shots
I hadn't been here before but saw lbma on the list of museums with free entry today so decided to go. Although the museum has a small parking lot, it was full so I had to park several blocks away and walk. There is also a paid parking option at Junipero Beach that I'll keep in mind for next time. Since they were already at max capacity when I got there at 11:30ish, I waited a few minutes to get in. I doubt that's normal though. I'm guessing there were lots of others taking advantage of the free day. Brent Estabrook, one of the artists, was there and conducted a tour of his works and answered questions. Their restaurant, Claire's, was also busy today. I wasn't hungry but will definitely come back another day to check out Claire's, which has outside seating overlooking the ocean. The museum and Claire's are open Thursday through Sunday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Great location but as far as the museum goes, bleh. 15 bucks for 5 minutes of horse pickey sculptures. One is literally a giant rock that had a hole carved out of it. ‍
This place was great, their ticket machine was broken so they just let us in for free. The art was interesting . I took a photo of my favorite piece. If you're coming here from out of town I recommend eating at THE ATTIC.
Lovely little museum with three floors and an oceanside gallery - don't miss the basement exhibit! Currently showing Jawlensky and Kandinsky. Friendly staff. Spacious. Clean. If you are in the area, would make for a nice short stint.
Nice little museum with the view of the ocean. There are 3 floors in this museum, they have exhibits of artists from local area. Wonderful installation outside, look beautiful day and night time. I have the honor to volunteer for the installation. Thanks LBMA for having me. Parking is free and it’s outside of the museum. So make sure to check the google map before you come. There is a little restaurant for you to enjoy the ocean breeze and beautiful view as well.
Awesome installation for the Tristan Eaton exhibits. $12 for adults or half off $6 if you purchase online for Fridays in advance. Free parking next door and a lovely ocean view Cafe. Support the arts & enjoy.
Lovely museum. I loved the works by Jawlensky and their Loveline exhibit. I thought the people working in the museum were very friendly and informative! Took me about an hour to experience all the works.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
Came here to see the Tristan Eaton exhibit and it was dope. Place is full of his work spanning his career in a beautiful place too. Only complaint I have is a couple huge pieces of art in small little spaces the 3D piece and the Malcolm X mural but there just really is no space for it all so kudos for fitting in what they did.
