The Long Island City School of Ballet (LICSB) provides professional dance education and performance opportunities to residents in and near Queens. Through a broad range of classes, the school's focus is on developing strong technique and physical conditioning while fostering an appreciation for dance and the performing arts. LICSB also offers students performance opportunities with its resident company, Long Island City Ballet (LICB).
History
Established in 2006
Eric danced for many great ballet companies including Suzanne Farrell at the Kennedy Center, American Ballet Theatre, Dances Patrelly, Ballet for Young Audiences and many more. His school has grown out of his love for the art form. He specializes in training boys and created Sports Dance for Boys to foster appreciation of dance from a natural movement base. All of his classes are taught by professional dancers.
Long Island City Ballet and Long Island City School of Ballet (LICB/ LICSB) are Queens based organization of choreographers, teachers, dancers, actors, musicians, students and volunteers whose mission is to provide theatrically produced ballet and professional dance education in an inclusive environment that enriches audiences of all ethnic and economic backgrounds and contributes to the fulfillment of the cultural needs of the community. We want our works to be accessible to as wide an audience as possible. LICB offers performances, multi-faceted collaboration, scholarships, outreach, audience development, and training while providing work opportunities for local artists.
