Lovely little park when the duck mites aren't in season! A little soggy grounds. Not huge, but a nice spot of a picnic on a blanket.
I go here alot because it's convenient, but it's not a great park...there are so many bees constantly in my face and if I bust out any food item at all, there becomes a gang of bees just being invasive and intrusive to say the least, and I've gone to every different area of the park and they're without a shadow of a doubt always there it's like they think the entire park is their territory. Anyway as you can tell I have a bit of salty feelings about these bees. There doesn't seem to be any riffraff frequent teen the park which is nice I feel like I never have to worry about anything like that, just the dang bees! Playground: There isn't one, just a swing set Restrooms: Unlocked usually and clean considering it's a public park Dog-friendliness: Lots of open space and water Picnic area: They just recently took the barbecue grills out of the park which really truly sucks but otherwise in that there are a couple of picnic tables and they are in good condition
Beautiful lake, so picturesque. Especially at sunset. There’s plenty of parking, picnic areas, restrooms and a playground. That I would give 5 stars for. We came to check out the fishing, the fishing pier is very small and the area was chocked full of “seaweed” and algae. There’s no restrooms near the fishing pier. There are signs advising not to swim in the water due to the severe abundance of algae and if any fish are caught, to carefully clean them before consumption. Doesn’t seem to be a great area for catching fish either. Out of the dozen or so folks I saw come and go, no one caught anything. There is definitely some bites and nibbles, but thing else.
Enjoy fishing long lake when it's quiet. It's fun to fish, however I would never eat a fish out of this lake. Make sure if you're swimming this lake you go home and take a shower. Big Bass...
Toddler & Beagle approved. Wide open grassy area to explore and run around in, a warm lake to swim/wade/splash around in and most importantly! Swings for my toddler to sprint to and beagle to lope behind her to! Very simple, nice nature park to enjoy the scenery & picnic in. If you want more play equipment def either bring it for swimming in the lake or equipment for utilizing the volleyball/beachball area, the large flat grassy spaces or baseball diamond! Photos included from months 7-9 of my 2nd pregnancy. They include: my heavily pregnant self, Toddler, Husbeast, Toddler's Aunt & her Chihuahua, Big Brother Beagle.
The trees in the fall are beautiful. Goose poop in the grass so keep your shoes on. Parking lot is half gravel. There are garbage cans, a bathroom, a cabana you can rent. The water is unfortunately very gross. Someone’s septic always seems to be malfunctioning and leaking sewage into the water. The swimming area is often closed due to bacteria issues. The only dock to jump off of is the boat launch /fishing dock area. Too many lily pads . Tons. A man actually died getting tangled in them a few years ago.
Good place to walk dogs, have a picnic or play games that need large open spaces. There is a small area off to the side for fishing- not in my pics though.
Signs have been posted warning of unsafe water. Swimmer's Itch, toxic algae or maybe ecoli, I'm not sure. There have been intermittent assorted unsafe water problems for years. Otherwise it is a big park, open fields with a big lake - and so much bird poop almost everywhere.
Beautiful park to come and fish, boat, swim, hang out and have a picnic. My one concern is that that this board in the dock is about to got away. I saw someone almost put their food through it so be careful.
