They are super nice I got my covid-19 vaccination there The nurse did an awesome job they are great.
I recently had to obtain a death certificate so, I called and asked for their hours and I was told they were open 8am-430pm with no Saturday hours. Given that I work M-F during the day, I left work early one day and arrived at approximately 412pm. The two individuals working in the department were sitting in chairs, talking to one another and didn't immediately address me. When one did walk over, I was informed me that couldn't help anyone who arrived later than 4pm. I said that I had specifically called and asked for their hours and had been told they were open until 430pm and no one mentioned this unwritten rule about needing to arrive by 4pm. This employee had zero concern with my frustration and just insisted she could not help me. I went back the next time I was able to break away early and obviously arrived before 4pm. In an attempt to better understand the need for this ridiculous rule, I used the stop watch on my cell to see exactly how long my transaction took. From the time I walked in until the time I walked out was less than 8 minutes and that included time to correct something with the transaction. Sadly, this just added to my aggravation as it clearly showed me that I could have very easily been helped on my first trip to this out of the way location. On the positive side, the employee who assisted me on trip #2 was stellar and I have had a positive experience previously when needing to call for assistance. I feel that the 4pm rule is completely unnecessary and HIGHLY abnormal for any business; however, if they insist on keeping the rule they need to clearly note this on their website I looked and there is no such note, post it on the door signage that currently says 8am-430pm, and relay this information to anyone who calls. Further, given that a great many people work M-F during the day, consideration should really be given to having Saturday hours or extended hours on one or more of the weekdays, particularly since they won't actually help anyone who arrives after 4pm.
My daughter needed vaccines to enter kindergarten. After I lost my job in 2019, found new work and was then laid off on 2020 due to Covid I had no idea the status of her insurance and was in the midst of serious financial hardship. I made one call, had a scheduled appointment with a cash payment quoted of $80 for all her vaccines. It was hundreds cheaper than any pharmacy clinic when paying out of pocket. I got a reminder the day before which helps when things are chaotic! When I arrived they asked about insurance, I was embarrassed and explained I didn’t know but was happy to pay her health was worth it! They were able to confirm her Medicaid was still valid and the visit cost us NOTHING! The nurse was silly and friendly and my daughter left feeling proud! They even let her pick out a special story book of the best quality!! Thank you ladies for not making us feel bad for our situation and treating my daughter so special! As hard as these two years have been the smallest amount of respect and care made us feel amazing!
They were very educational on how to use project dawn to help save someone how has overdose and u can use Narcan
So proud to live in Lorain County through these hard times. Have had nothing but great experiences with the Health Department. Vaccine appointments were effortless. Thank you!
Website says open 8A-4:30pm, arrived roughly at 4:15pm to get birth certificate. Lady at main desk asked if she could help me I said yea, birth certificate and proceeded to walk in. She stops me and says their closed, I replied website says closes at 4:30pm. She says yea I know but they have to shut down at 4pm! If you close at 4:30pm why would you turn people away after 4pm? Other people have jobs also and if you close at 4pm your site should reflect closed at 4pm!!!
Thank you to the LCHD for administering free vaccines to my son, without which he wouldn't have been permitted in school, bc we can't afford health insurance. The nurse was very caring and compassionate, and I felt very comfortable having her treat my son. You guys are a lifesaver!!!!
I took my 7-month-old son here to get the second dose of the flu shot when his regular doctor ran out. The nurse was super helpful, and my son barely cried. He even got a new book to take home. What a great asset to the community. Thank you!
I Give the Health Dept is wonderful. This morning went to certified gas station on Lowell the employee are NOT required to wear face mask!!!! And I like to know why? Why is is good for some places but not all?
Very clean, upon entering there's a person at the front desk to guide where you need to be. Located inside as soon you walk in will be WIC, an office for birth certificates and an immunization clinic.
