We had planned a nice family vacation here but I guess they are hurting for money because they wanted to charge us for an additional campsite for a utility trailer. When I questioned why the owner started screaming at us and woke our grand children in another camper. She is very rude person over the phone and face to face. We will never stay there again. There are a lot of other nicer campgrounds in the area. We were also not sure who was coming and in a phone conversation she demanded to know how many in each of our campers. I told her that we would settle it when we arrived at the site. She demanded numbers right then. I guess she wanted maximum number to collect as much money as they could. The place was empty, hardly any people camping but I guess I know why now.
If i could give this place 0 stars I would. Its extremely overpriced for the type of campground it is. The owners hide behind their faith and use it as a justification to treat people rudely. From the first point of contact, the woman spoke to us rudely, talking over my husband, and even yelling. They have many strict rules some of which are extreme, like paying extra if you have over 3 people but can have no more than 6 people. The owner charged us twice for the extra people, then argued that she didn't, until we told her we had bank statements to prove it. The deer pen is really sad. The fence is falling down and in the pen, there are several falling down sheds, the pen itself is small. The pool is not heated and if you have child that is not potty trained, or a child that wears swimmy diapers, they are prohibited to swim, the playground is subpar, and the grounds are run down. Go somewhere else, where your money is appreciated because you will be paying a lot for nothing.
I truly enjoyed my time there. Good location for many attractions in the area. Laurel Hill State Park minutes away.Location: 5/5
I loved being up here. It's so peaceful and pretty. The pool is really nice. All the other campers I met were friendly and respectful. A great place to park your RV or pitch a tent for a weekend.
Visiting some friends that were on site we noticed some upgrading being done. Maybe adding additional sites. It seemed to be full hook up on the rv sites available which is a nice feature. The bath house was as good as it could be with a full camp area. The pool said heated, but it definitely wasn't for some reason or another. Personally I prefer having a bit of space between camp sites. These seemed to close together for me personally, specially when a fellow camper brings out the impact guns to set their stability jacks amongst other things. Sometimes quality is better than quantity when it comes to camping and personal space. Other than that it seemed good.
The staff at Lost Mountain are very accommodating, friendly, and willing to go above an beyond to help. The sites are HUGE and provide for a better camping experience than most other places in the area. The facilities are well kept and clean. You get a pretty good amount of Firewood for what you pay for, unlike some other places. It is very quiet and peaceful, and people are respectful of the quiet time. Lots of trails nearby and just minutes to Seven Springs. I accidentally left without paying for the site and the owner/operator called me . She was very understanding and told me to send a check. I felt terrible about the mistake after having been treated so kindly for two weekends in a row at such great rates. We will definitely be going back here next year for an extended stay.
Nice quiet campground. Nice playground and a small heated pool. Very nice owners and residents. Sites and facilities were well kept. They had a fenced deer viewing area with a few deer inside. Not too far from everything to do in the area.
Quiet little campground for tenters. We always come late in the season so I can't really comment on the RV section mid summer but weve enjoyed plentiful water sources near the tent sites, no overcrowding, mostly level sites on the grass without rocks and roots under your tent. Quaint amenities like a small camp store with great prices on a.handful of bare necessities, clean bath house, and a fun little game room. The whitetail deer observatory is fun too!
LOST MOUNTAIN IS UNLKE ANY OTHER. There is simply no other campground like Lost Mountain. The lots are spacious with plenty of green space. You are not side by side or back to back like most campgrounds. You are afforded many liberties when it comes to making your campsite a home away from home. In the interest of public safety the owners removed many large trees from the property and are in the midst of a laborious cleanup. There is a pool and a pay fishing pond. You can feed the fish and the deer. They have a beautiful, heated pool. The owners are in the process of upgrading the game room, playground and other renovations. Lost Mountain is a quiet relaxing campground close to Seven Springs, Hidden Valley, Flight 93 Memorial, 16 miles to Quecreek Mine Rescue site, 18 miles from Frank Floyd Wright’s Summer Home & 21 miles from Ohio Pyle. There is no other campground like Lost Mountain.
My wife and I were on a business trip from the Philadelphia area to Elkhart, IN when a Turkey Vulture intercepted the windshield of our truck. My wife got covered in glass but otherwise unhurt. Fortunately we were only a mile from the Somerset exit of the PA turnpike. Unfortunately it was Sunday morning and getting the glass replaced was not going to happen. Since we were pulling our fifth wheel travel trailer we decided we should find a campground not always so easy as it was pre-season and hope to get repaired on Monday. Calls to several campgrounds in the area were either unanswered or voice mail boxes that were never returned with one exception. Lynn returned our call promptly, said she could accommodate us, and gave us directions. Lynn, Buck, and Bill helped us settle in with more hospitality than we could image. Realizing that we were several miles from restaurants or grocery stores No food on board so I was worried about lunch and dinner! I thought I would have to drive the truck, broken windshield and all, into town to get some supplies. Buck, thinking this would be unsafe, offered us his pickup to go on an errand run. This was really going above and beyond, my only regret is that I didn't wash his pickup when I returned it!!!
