Lou Wendell marine is a family owned and operated marina founded in 1985. Our veteran employees have over 250 years of combined experience in the marine industry. This experience enables Lou Wendell Marine to provide you with the service needed to enjoy your water activities every day.
We are a full service marina, located on a major inland river, we are able to provide you with a true one stop service environment. We offer factory trained technicians, 160 docking slips (30 are covered), fuel dock and a complete accessory and service department. Lou Wendell offers a full line of Bayliner, Rinker and Avalon luxury pontoon boats.

Great showroom for boat lovers! They have new & used models. Order parts & they may have most needs in stock in their shop. Boat dock rentals & gasoline. Close to food options & shopping. Close to interstate ramps & route 60. Great family owned for over 65 years!
2022 Review. Bought a used boat from them in 2021 and started renting their slip. My salesmen Tom was great. Lou himself has always been nice and helpful. My real issues have been with their customer service after the purchase. Whenever I call with a question or need help, Lou's sons just act annoyed to have to talk to me. Mike has been the rudest my far. You can feel the irritation in his voice the moment he is forced to engage anyone. The service dept guy doesn't want to work on anything that isn't their new sales brand Avalon. It's like a pontoon that isn't Avalon is so much different he wouldn't know where to begin and he declines the work. The sons act entitled and know the market has changed and they don't need your business. Expect indifference and indignation with the simplest of questions or tasks. The attitude is infectious there so it bleeds over to their other employees. I really hate the way it's changed now that Lou is not as engaged and controlling things.
I have been dealing at Lou Wendell for years. Bought several boats over time. Each experience keeps you coming back. Great people, great products and service is second to none. Highly recommend.

I set up a date and time for service with Gary. They done a great job on my service and I am very pleased. I am a new boat owner and I had several questions. Gary was happy to help and answer my questions. He even found a problem with my boat and fixed it for free! Thank you Gary and his fine staff. I will be back!
Started as a customer a few years back and feel more like a friend now than a customer. Walk in and they even know the kids by their names. They are always willing to help no matter what the issue is. Life time customer here.
The sales man was rude from the beginning acting bothered that we were there and asking questions. Then come to find out they are charging $1600 more than what the boat values for. I just can’t get over how rude he was.
Best boat buying experience period. I found them through Google searches on G3 boats for sale. I traveled 4 hours to buy a G3 1860 CCJ DLX from pics on their site. Not only the best price within 500 miles of me, their customer service was outstanding. Here's what they did: tested the motor and hull before I arrived, gave me all paperwork ahead of time, took me on a test run on-site to show me how to operate everything on the boat-in the rain-in January, touched base with me every day for a week before the purchase, threw in life jackets and a fire extinguisher, toured the facility, met the owner-Lou, the son Mike was my salesman. I don't know these guys, but it's no wonder they've been in business for over 30 years. Every business should study how they treat customers.
Friendly knowledgeable staff. I get my boat parts and dock here because even though I bought my small boat elsewhere they treat me the same as their customers that buy 100k dollar boats. Boat up ethanol free fuel docks as well. Much better service than Charleston Marine.
