Roger Morillo Guitars

I’ve been taking my guitars to Roger since 2013 and I haven’t looked any further. Roger is definitely the best luthier in the area, and I can expect that he will do a great job with any of the guitars I bring him. He’s done everything for me from wiring jobs, fret levels and set ups, all the way dropping off a box of parts and assembling partscasters. Roger’s work competes with the standard expected from big brand custom shops and small boutique builders. His pro setups really transform the instrument, and I’ve taken him “budget” level guitars that end up playing as nice or even better than guitars multiple times its worth. Roger also tends to get the work done relatively quickly, but if he’s got a backlog then he still will get you the instrument in a reasonable time. I’ve never waited an excessive amount of time to get an instrument back, and once I get it back it reminds me why I go to Roger for the projects I can’t do on my own. Roger is also a great guy, and if you’re lucky you may get to meet Ramon too. Roger’s always been very friendly to me and makes sure the guitar is how I want it before I take it home. Reach out before you go, and Roger will let you know if he’s available at his shop. I highly recommend Roger for all luthier needs.

Roger is a master luthier and an awesome human. Last year, I took him a secondhand Fender Jazz bass and he transformed the guitar into a work of art. I brought my guitar here for a fret dressing/setup and was blown away by how the guitar played when I got it back. The action is super low with no buzzing whatsoever. String tension is perfect. It plays like butter. I will definitely be returning with all of my instruments in the future. The service was super fast too! Got my guitar back same afternoon! Highly recommend!!!!!

Roger has worked on guitars and basses for me. He’s simply the best luthier around. I’ve since moved to VA, and it’s so hard finding anyone at his level to work on my instruments. I think it’s worth a trip across states if you are close to WV and have an instrument you truly love.
