Absolutely amazing place for kids to spend an entire day. There are two floors filled with creativity, fun and amazement with activities ranging from music and art to science. This should appeal to kids from 2 years to 14 years of age. The staff is also very friendly, patient and helpful, especially in the art area. Our kids had forgotten their art “masterpiece” in the art area, but we were able to retrieve it an hour later because the the staff had carefully kept it hoping we’d come back. There is a little outdoor playground, which is great for kids to enjoy outdoors after their indoor adventures. The best part of the kids museum is the attached cafeteria, which has great options for both adults and kids. There are options for sandwiches, salads, bowls and tacos, including ice creams, pops and milkshakes. There are quite a number of vegetarian options, including the impossible burger. The house made chips are so much better than store packaged chips. The museum deserves plaudits for serving amazing options for food, without compromising on quality. None of the other kids museums, zoos or aquariums we’ve visited in the country had good food options, especially for kids. There is good enough of free parking within city park for everyone. Overall a fantastic experience.
Beautiful Museum With 2 Levels Dedicated To The Children. I Spent $65 For One Adult And Two Children. It Was Bright, Colorful, Interactive And The Staff Was Very Friendly. I Didn't Give It A 5 Because I've Visited The Children's Museums In Lakeland, FL And Tucson AZ And While They Were Smaller And One Of Them Was Only One Floor They Were Filled With More Interactive Activities For The Children.
Hosted my granddaughter's 3rd party here, and it is a wonderful place to bring children. There are numerous activities with inconspicuous staff supervision. There is even an outdoor play area. One can easily fill two hours. For birthdays, you have your own private room. You can bring in an outside cake, but no decorations or outside food allowed. You can order food from the museum. I elected not to. All attendees had a blast and the ages ranged from 3-12.
I got the family annual membership last month and already have been to LCM 4 times on weekends. Kids absolutely love it and they have lot of activities on 2 indoor floors and outdoorsVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$11–15
The pictures are of the park from the second floor of the museum. I was honestly having too much fun and forgot to take pictures. The Mississippi River mega-water table is the absolute best. My 7yo couldn't get enough of it when he was 4yo and still loves it. Actually had to make him leave to see the rest of the museum. There's a spot for the smaller kids too, but the children there are typically well supervised and there was attentive staff there today. It's also educational, if you're interested in going that route. I love playing with it too, the instant cause and effect is very satisfying. Very impressive design. The bead factory machine thing no clue what it's actually called was his second favorite. The kids love it. Very noisy, hut lots of seating for adults. These 2 things alone are worth the admission price. But then there's the whole rest of the museum!!! We come here whenever we're in the city. Love it, love it, love it! Did I mention the rest of City Park is like RIGHT there?! You can literally spend all day here. Then let you come in and out for the day you paid for. There's a little Cafe with reasonably priced food too, so you don't even have to leave for that.
We absolutely love this place. We're so glad it is running again now that it's safer to be out and about. As homeschoolers we appreciate having such amazing resources at our disposal and we enjoy visiting the various offerings. Their is a storytime/literacy program on Wednesdays that we take advantage of as part of our curriculum that is amazing!
Outstanding experience for children as well as adults. Places to get out of the sun, food, beverage, it's a child's fun zone! There are even Conference Rental Rooms with full AV Systems.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Four kids age 3-8 and all enjoyed it. The supermarket was a hit with my 8 year old daughter. It is two levels. They also had a garden area outside, but we did not go to that. There is also a section for kids 3 and under, I believe.
It was a very fun place. Well-maintained clean enjoyable experience for children of most any age. We were fortunate to go on a day that a corporation had sponsored so we didn’t even have to pay admission
What a fun place for the family. We spent hours there, 2 floors of fun, a great restaurant and area to explore outside. Our kids spent an hour in the grocery market and kitchen, then another hour building with the giant building blocks and magnet tiles, then just as much time in the simulated River. Bonus, they also learned some new concepts at the waterway. We had a delicious lunch at the restaurant, try the shrimp tacos, overlooking the water. We observed Egrets, Hurons, and tons of turtles.
