Excellent vet practice, which is affiliated with the Eastham vet. Dr. Larned and the team that staffs this outpost provide a high level of care and are committed to a holistic view of our animal family members. They have provided continually thoughtful and responsive support to particular issues I've had with my dog. I've heard them take this same approach with others, too. The bonus is that the team here is friendly, approachable, and kind.
This place is all about the money and could care less about your pet or you. Requested a refill on a perscription but was told if I didn't come in for Abby''s annual due at the end of the month not that that should matter they would not renew. Holding a script ransome or rather you have to pay for your script in the guise of a very expensive check up. What veterinarian clinic could be so hartless and money hungery to put a pet at risk?
Dr Larned took such great care of our little Chihuahua. She was patient and took her time explaining everything. I would definitely recommend Dr Larned and Herring Cove Veterinary Hospital to anyone in our area.
We have only the most favorable comments for Dr. Hutchings and our Lower Cape Animal Hospital Group. This is Yogi. Yogi arrived to Provincetown aged 12 weeks. Now 8 months he's completed all his puppy inoculations. Experts with the syringe the little guy is casually aware in his exams. In fact he is eager to make the trek across town to see the group - ok, so maybe it's the treats too! We could not be more pleased and highly recommend establishing are permanent, if not secondary relationship, with our Provincetown Vet group. SPH
This was my first time to see Dr. Jay and it felt like we were old friends. Very personable, obviously committed to the animals he sees. Very knowledgeable and gentle. Glad our new vet is him! Been using Herring Cove for years and everyone is so nice.
They, and their sister clinic in Eastham, used to be wonderful. Unfortunately, they were bought out by some big company, who changed all their policies, fees, and rules, and not for the better. My parents and I brought all our pets to both locations for many years, but I would avoid them now if you have a choice. I have heard that much of the original staff and veterinarians have left, and the vet who I was assigned to us the last time I was at the Eastham location, in place of our regular veterinarian, was not good, and gave very bad advice, which luckily I did not follow. It all makes me very sad.
I was visiting Ptown with my elderly pug when she fell off the bed and couldn't walk. I showed up at Herring Cove vet before it opened holding a lame pug in my arms. The team brought her inside immediately. I had already set up an account -- a process, for sure, but worth it because they already had my dog's medical records on hand when I arrived. Dr. Hastings was so attentive, helpful, clear and compassionate. At her suggestion, I drove two hours to a specialist in Weymouth where this Ptown team had already prepped the Weymouth team about my arrival. I had to negotiate a neuro consult, a surgical assessment, my vets back in New York and manage my pug's pain all in less than 24 hours. Dr. Hastings kept up with everything that was happening and never stopped helping me. She even called the morning after I had been in the specialty hospital to get an update. If you are here visiting, I strongly recommend this practice. Do go through the new patient protocol, it will really help if you have an emergency.
