Provincetown's First and Finest Fitness Facility
Provincetown Gym is the oldest, continually run gym on Cape Cod. First opened in 1976, the gym has been in two other locations before moving into this home which was specifically built to accommodate a fitness center. We're now located on Shank Painter Road making us not only convenient to town, just a short 10 minute walk from town center, but also to our friends coming in from neighboring towns on Route 6.
The gym is the largest in Provincetown and encompasses three floors. The basement level houses the Massage Suites, office and storage. On the entrance level is the Lobby, Locker Rooms, a spacious Sauna, Tanning Room, Spin Studio and the newly remodeled Aerobics Room. On the airy, light filled upper level you are greeted by the registration desk which is surrounded by the very well eqipped physical gym and cardio areas. There is a handicapped elevator to assist anyone with difficulty climbing the stairs. All of the strength equipment is Cybex, the gold standard in fitness. The cardio equipment is SportsArt and PreCor. We offer treadmills, steppers, upright and recumbent bikes, rower and PreCor Eliptical XTrainers and AMTs (Advances Motion Trainer). My great staff is always nearby to answer questions or to offer a spot.
It has been my privilege to manage this Provincetown institution for the last 14 years. Every year I try to make improvements to the equipment and the facility so that our members from town and our visiting friends have the finest fitness experience on the Cape. Since taking over the gym, it has been my goal to provide our members and guests with a clean, well equipped fitness center while keeping the pricing structure affordable to everyone. We're also known as being a real community gym. Everyone is made to feel welcome regardless of their fitness level, age or abilities. The only thing we ask is that everyone be respectful of other members and the facility.
My staff is one of our greatest assets. Most of them have been with me for a number of years and I know many of our returning guests look forward to seeing them every year and we all look forward to catching up with our summer friends.
We're not perfect and would never claim to be, but for a small town gym we try every day to give our guests the very best.
