My bf hates getting his hair cut but when it really needs done I can get online and book him an appointment. He never complains and just goes. He enjoys the atmosphere and chatting with his barber, Seth. The results are 110% worth it.

Eric saved my wedding. He fixed a bad haircut from a different shop and had me looking the best I've ever looked for my wedding day. Highly highly recommend!

I just received my first haircut from Hutch at the new barbershop. I have been having Hutch cut my hair for a couple of years now. He always does a great job. He takes the time and care to get it right every time. The Loyal Sons barbershop is committed to keeping the spirit of old school traditional barbering alive in Des Moines. They honor the old craft by practicing their art every day. Sometimes the newest thing isn't the best thing. Our fathers and grandfathers had quite a few things right. Their brand new shop is sparkling clean and fresh, but with the vibe of a long established location. I especially enjoy the tile mosaic in the entryway that transports you to an old school barbershop today. The barbers here all seem friendly and professional. If you are looking for a traditional barbershop with the convenience of appointments, you won't find better than the Loyal Sons or Hutch the Barber.

I appreciate Eric's attention to detail and passion for his craft. He is truly a gifted barber. I'm so glad he opened his own shop and got away for Franklin. He's still cash only but that's really the only downside I can think of. I started with Eric at Franklin Barber, on Franklin. Then at Franklin Barber in Beaverdale where it's not uncommon to have to sit and wait for up to 3 hours in line for a haircut. Worth it!

BEST HAIRCUT I'VE EVER HAD! Eric Hutchison is extremely talented and super friendly--he always remembers my name and my family members names and that means alot to me. Great vibe here, dynamite music, and it's alot of fun joining in the conversation amongst the barbers. Really incredible group of folks here and I HIGHLY recommend!
