My wife and I were looking for some Chinese food for dinner. We have been ordering from this restaurant for over ten years. We had not had the chance to order since the pandemic, so we decided this would be a good time. We called from the car and ordered General Tso’s chicken, extra spicey with four spring rolls. This dish had been our usual order, so we thought we would see if it had changed. Before, we always saw what we assumed to be the mother, the dad cooking, and her son taking orders. We watched him grow up. It will not surprise me if he is off to college. `We had to go to the Food Lion next door, so we did that before heading into the restaurant. From the outside, it looked like the sign was maybe broken. You could not read the Lucky part. This might be something the landlord needs to fix. They used to have a very small seating area inside. We had always assumed that most of their business was takeout. I would imagine the pandemic made it, so they just went 100 percent takeout orders.. I do not fault them for that choice. Our order was ready when we arrived. One this I have always appreciated about this location was its sanitation score. I have never seen anything lower than a 99, and usually, it’s a 100. It was the same this visit. Our food was what we remembers from the last time. The chicken was cooked well. The sauce was spiced to our liking. We spent $15 odd dollars and would do so again. We would, and do recommend this to other peopl. Parking: Plenty of parking
We have been coming to lucky cafe for 10 years. Well actuality it's been longer than That. Every sense They open. We're even Were There one day when they had their Chinese New Year's day dinner. We ate with them. We got to eat more traditional stuff than They already have. But that's just the type of people they are. The food is always spot on and basically the same. So when you order someone have you can order it again and it tastes just as good. It's really one of those places you can tell somebody how good it is it when they go they say man you were right.Watching their kids grow up was pretty need to. Just got done eating in a little kids it used to sit and do their homework in the corner. Are very grown up mature and welcome you in. I think it's an awesome tradition. You must go. Put it on your I wanna go visit list.
Looks like they will be renovating soon, inside is a mess, can't eat in they'll be closed all of July. Food was really good: loved the lo mein & chow mein. Too bad they have children in front- boy looks 12, girl looks 17. Sparky, immature. Not cool to make fun of customers on phone in front of people waiting for their food. I'll still go back for the food
Definitely recommend checking this restaurant out. I’d say the prices are slightly higher than Chinese restaurants in Charlotte, but the food quality and taste is way better. Crab Rangoons are the best I’ve ever had. Pictured is the lunch beef & broccoli few bites already taken there is way more beef than what it looks like.
unfortunately the quality of the food and taste has gone hill. In the past 2 month we have ordered 3 meals and every time we sit at the table we talk about the quality of the chicken and beef and how chewy and tough it is. the rice is the worst Ive had in a long time. there's no taste no seasoning at all. I live down the road, but I'm heading to Asian garden or finding another place.
Have been closed since July 4thtoday is 7/19 they have a sign on the door...closed until August 12th. Idiots, no one is going to see your sign unless they went out of their way to visit the establishment. How about updating your hours online when you close.
The crab racoons are the best. Yes ik what I said. "crab rangoon". But that the only thing I get here I don't like the chicken to softFood: 4/5
Absolutely the best Chinese food in gaston County! Awesome food every time!Food: 5/5
We ordered for Christmas Eve with the online menu, even read through it with the person on the phone to confirm. The prices are NOT updated. We thought we ordered a $34 family meal and it ended up being $56. Didn’t even come with all the stuff. So less items - and more money. Find a better Chinese restaurant is my recommendation.
If you're going to have a 10 to 11 year old kid run the front register, teach him manners. At the very least, to not toss money at you when giving you your change. Ridiculous. Your food is not that great to charge the prices you are charging. This place was great at one point in time. But the ownership changes have left it a shadow of its former self.
