Just nine miles from the city centre of Nassau is Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA), the busiest airport in The Bahamas, and an important gateway to the Caribbean, welcoming 3.1 million passengers annually, a mixture of visitors from abroad and a local population that tends to travel frequently.
Named after the country’s first Prime Minister and Father of the Nation, The Right Honourable Sir Lynden O. Pindling, LPIA is the country’s premier international gateway.
Operating 24 hours a day, the airport is served by 22 airlines flying to 55 destinations. With two runways and 35 aircraft gates, LPIA served 3.3 million passengers and safely handled more than 83,000 aircraft takeoffs and landings in 2016.
