Community Schools offers a variety of activities to the community. We offer After School Child Care, Summer of Fun Activities, Artworks Enrichment Program
LCS primary function is to provide Child Care to the school age children in Lynnfield. Each elementary school has a before and after school child care program on location. Child Care starts at 6:50 a.m. and ends at 6:00 p.m. Community Schools also offers a Pre School Extended Day that goes along with the Lynnfield Public Preschool. During February and April vacation we offer child care and camp style programs during the week.
Community Schools also offers after school enrichment programs for school age children.Most of the programs are held at the schools, although some require you to go to a different facility. Classes can range from Archery, Chess, Cooking to Yoga, Sewing, Sports, Horseback Riding, all the way to Film Making Class. We are constantly changing and adding new programs.These are offered through out the school year. Students receive registration forms via the back packs.
During the summer, LCS offers: Summer Of Fun Activities (S.O.F.A). The weeks of summer vacation are broken down into morning (9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) and afternoon (12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.) one week theme based activities. We also have a before camp early drop off at 7:30 a.m. and an after camp child care until 5:00 p.m. We start as young as 2.9 years old and go all the way up through high school! We have quite a variety of programs and most of the summer staff are teachers during the school year, then run camps for LCS during summer vacation.
