Those was the worst experience/ ER visit of my life. My daughter was bought in by ambulance. The wait for a room was over an hour. Doctor examined her and another patient bought in by Ambulance in the area we were waiting in. Rooms were empty but not clean. Most staff was joking around and playing on their phones. One employee an AA woman took the initiative to tell others to get the rooms clean so that my daughter and the other guy can get a room. Once in the room I could've threw up. After sitting there about an hour I noticed old blood all over the room. Some were droplets and the rest was smeared everywhere from a poor mopping attempt. There was black mold on the ceilings. The bathroom had blood and mold everywhere including the toilet seat. The doctor had ordered the test but it took almost 2 hours to get the doctor to come back in with results. He only came when he did because my daughter started unhooking herself from the monitoring devices and wanted the IV out. She didnt even want to wait for her results. She was extremely uncomfortable, we all were. The discharge took another hour and a half just to bring a script, paperwork, and remove IV. The doctor was good but clearly he was stretched too thin. The nurses spent most of their time behind the desk on their phones. When approached some had attitudes. If I could give this experience no stars I would. Before I call an ambulance again that would force me to go to this location, I rather drive somewhere else for better experience.
Please do not go to this hospital. It's the worst we have ever experienced, from ER to discharge. Discharge was the icing on the cakebest part. Got the wrong patient information and med list. If anyone knows a Jessey Donald Howell in Texas City, hope he's still alive, tell him we have all his medical information and medicine list, maybe we can exchange paperwork. Anyway we were finally able, 4 days later after checkout to get new medicine they weren't even turned in. Robots would have been better than most of the nursing staff. A 45 minute surgery turned into a 3 hours, still not sure why except they aren't sure either. The food was really bad in ICU, same thing everyday, had family bring jellos and pudding to eat. Will never go here again or send a family member here. Like I said check out was the best part of this whole experience the rest was a nightmare. Went to get checkout papers a week later and complain and not even I'm sorry or concern, just business as usual attitude. Crazy, should be illegal to remain open!
Everything was very easy and professional. All went so smooth! Anesthesiologist was super as usual. It was nice to get a call from him the night before with a run down off the procedure to ease my mind. All nurses were great. I never saw my dr but didn't need to. Procedure went well.
Arrived to have a stress test. Then taken to ER after test indicated a problem. Two hours in the ER . Staff was polite and courteous. Then taken to prepare me for a stint . Again staff and cardiologist were very professional. Treated me with respect! Then taken to room for observation. I wish I could remember one nurse. She indicated she was from India . She was a very helpful and caring person. All staff members should try and emulate this nurse. Thank you for your patience and respect for me.
my husband was there from a Tue AM until Thurs PM. Not once were his sheets or gown changed. The equipment used for aid for pain was discarded and left on floor. He was an at risk of falling patient. He was never given a basin to wash his face or to brush his teeth; he was never given any washcloth or towel or paper cups to be able to brush his teeth. No face tissues. He enjoyed the meals that were cooked well. The nursing staff were very polite when they attended him. I don't believe housekeeping did a thing. I was the one who got him water or coffee and cleaned his plastic urinals and picked up or moved discarded items that were pitched on the floor. This was never the case the few times he or myself were patients when the hospital was named Mainland Hospital.
My husband was transferred from the clear lake HCA to Mainland HCA for therapy after a massive stroke and this was the worse experience of my life. Some of the nurses were nice and all the physical therapists were professional and very helpful. However, the room was dirty, there was no private shower, the meals were inedible, and I often had to shower my husband myself because 3 days passed had since his last shower. Someone gave my husband a scolding hot cup of coffee that he was unable to hold and he spilled on his leg. I was only aware of the injury while I was showering him. The injury was extensive and took months to heal. The final insult was receieving a bill that amounted to $3,000 a night for his lodging. All of this was very disturbing but the most traumatic experience was dealing with the caseworker. The unsympathetic and rude way she dealt with me during this very difficult time will haunt me for the rest of my life. Someone like this should never be allowed to work in healthcare. After my husband's discharge she never provided the follow up she was supposed to, but by this time I had managed to get him into another hospital system thank goodness. I would hate for anyone else to go through this experience. Avoid this place at all costs.
I would like to leave them less that. Worst experience I have ever had. ER nurses were rude. I told them I had Covid and they left me in the waiting room for about 7 hours vomiting and diaphoretic. Then said I was histrionic because I couldn’t stop gagging and was in pain. A dr I never saw wrote a note. I was diagnosed wrong and wrote the wrong information, not what I told him. One said seizure, which I never had. One said smoking and other said not . I was looked hatefully by a nurse who told me @ you need to calm down”. I called patient services after discharge and never got a call back. I’m a nurse which I did not tell them . I would never treat people this way.my physician I used to see treated me and I have no idea where she got her info. Sent me home with nothing for nausea. I ended up at another ER the same day I was discharged and treated with respect and kindness and given the meds I needed for home. It’s funny to look at both hospital notes . The second hospital was accurate. People should never have to experience what I went thru . Now my insurance won’t pay because what their notes say. I don’t blame them . Retraining might be needed to take place. I only went there because I was so sick and could make it there. I ended up in icu guess they admitted me for being histrionic .
I had surgery here. This was one of the best experiences I had with having surgery. Exceptional care from the nurses in pre-op to the surgical care unit. The nurses made sure my pain was managed and even took the time to help me clean and make sure my bedding was clean. All my needs were met. The staff even went above and beyond to make sure my husband could see me right before surgery when I was in pre-op holding.
My experience with HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland Center went very well. I was very pleased with everything as I had my foot operation. From the beginning to the end. Everyone was very nice and polite, on time as scheduled even after I got home I received phone calls from them. Thanks for the great service.
The nurse were all very nice and attentive! They were there for all my needs! On the cleanliness side..not so much! Even in the room the restroom had spider webs on the floor! You guys to to retrain housekeeping
