I honestly have to say that you could find better customer service at your local McDonald’s. I have been a loyal customer of Malvern Saddlery for years, purchasing several high end items from the shop. For example, I ordered a fully custom pair of Tucci tall boots through Jill, several pairs of half chaps, and my Equipe saddle over the past few years. My saddle no longer fit my horse correctly, so I contacted Jill and she sent a saddle fitter out. It was then sent to Equipe to be adjusted. A month later I was contacted and told that the saddle was ready to be picked up from Malvern. I then called on a Saturday to see if I could pick the saddle up and find out how much I owed them. I was told by the staff that they knew nothing about the saddle and what I owed. I was told that I would not be able to pick it up that weekend and that they would have somebody call me on Tuesday. When I received the call on Tuesday, I decided to have the saddle shipped at this point because my horse was getting extremely back sore from using saddles that do not fit correctly. I paid for the adjustment, shipping, and a tack soap and received a call that it would be shipped out that day. By Sunday of the next weekend I still had not received the saddle and decided to call to see if they had received a tracking number. I then got an email with the tracking number and was told that it was delivered on the previous Wednesday about an hour away from where it was supposed to be. The saddlery’s “Shipping Expert” had shipped the high end saddle to the wrong town. Panicked, I tracked the saddle down and drove two hours round trip to the garden center that it had been delivered to. There I found it uncovered, moldy, and with a rip that was not previously there. I immediately contacted jill and sent pictures of the damaged saddle. She offered to send me a saddle cream to wipe the mold off with and is claiming that the rip was there before the saddle was sent out. Disappointed is an understatement. Thousands of dollars later and I am left with a moldy, torn saddle. I will never recommend Malvern saddlery to anyone again.
We ordered from them twice, on eBay. Twice the payment was sent promptly =immediately, twice an entire week passed before an attempt was made to get the tracking info. At which point we were informed that the item was listed incorrectly. Not good. Online sales required PROMPT execution. One week before telling your customer that something is not available or mis-listed the listing is still there! Hasn’t been changed or removed is simply not acceptable. If you take the $$, get the order and communication rolling! If you prefer storefront sales, don’t dabble in online retail.
Best saddlery..hands down. Jill spent over an hour with my daughter getting just the right helmet fit. Half chaps..same thing: Jill wasn't happy until the fit was perfect. The level of detail when it comes to safety is critically important and Jill does it perfectly and professionally. My daughter is very shy....when we walk through the door at MS, Jill greets her by name and makes us feel like family. My daughter feels like a million bucks every time she leaves. I could continue for hours....no need to shop anywhere else!
I ordered a pair of boots that appeared to be in stock on the website, and was contacted 3 days later that they were not in stock. This ended up working out, considering I had ordered the wrong size. I ordered the corrected size, again unsure if it would be in stock. This time, I paid for expedited shipping, as I need the boots asap. The day the boots were supposed to arrive, I again received a call that they were out of stock. I was unwilling to wait the 6 weeks for Malvern to special order the boots and although I alerted them multiple days ago, they have still not cancelled the payment for the first set of boots which they never had in stock
Love the boutique feel of this place and their selection of some higher end material. Each time I've been in, the sales staff has been very helpful!
Great service and quality products at this tack shop.
Jill brings a level of professionalism, attention to detail, and knowledge that sets Malvern apart from other stores. I have never found another store that spends as much time on custom boots and helmet fittings. But Malvern is our place for clothing, regular tack equipment, and other horse supplies. And it is right here in our local community!
This is a first class saddlery with an emphasis on customer service. There are many unique products and accessories out of the equestrian realm as well. The staff is kind and knows their business. Fantastic for every day gear or for a very special gift.
I have worked with Malvern saddlery for about 2 years now. Really great people. Jill is super easy to work with and knows so much about equestrian sport as well as the Industry. They have really helped me learn so much about this great sport. Their embroidery service is really great too. RJM
The website has sizes that I’m told don’t exist but they certainly charged my account for $868.00 that hasn’t yet been refunded. Don’t say you have something that you don’t and certainly don’t for charge something that doesn’t exist!! Most REPUTABLE companies don’t charge a credit card until the item ships. Charged my card immediately but took me contacting them to tell me item doesn’t exist. Terrible customer service
