Fresh. Homemade. Beautiful.
I come from a very loving family−for each other and for food. When my cousins and I were younger, we often had sleepovers at our grandparents’ house. Before bed, Grandma would open the “snack bar,” which was a hodgepodge of leftovers from the refrigerator. She placed every plastic container on the counter where we gathered around and ate until we were full again. Then Papa would say, “The snack bar is closing!” We willingly put back what was left, knowing Grandma was going to bake us our snack bar dessert−cookies, brownies, or Rice Crispy treats. To this day, family dinners end with dessert, usually more than one! My passion for baking comes from Grandma’s sweet tooth, as well as the laughs and love we share while enjoying the best part of every meal−dessert!
