The Manitowoc County Emergency Services Division includes the Office of Emergency Management and Joint Dispatch Center serving all of Manitowoc County.
The Manitowoc County Joint Dispatch center is the direct link between citizens and Manitowoc County's emergency response services as we provide 24-hour dispatching for all law, fire, and EMS agencies within Manitowoc County.
Our center is staffed by a total of 16 full-time and 5 part-time dispatchers who handle all emergency 911 calls as well as non-emergency calls for service. We serve 8 cities and villages within Manitowoc County and dispatch for 21 fire departments, 5 ambulance services, 11 first responder units, and coordinate emergency responses from the county SWAT Team and Dive Team. Along with the Sheriff's Office, we dispatch for City of Two Rivers, City of Manitowoc, and City of Kiel police departments as well as Cleveland, Francis Creek, Mishicot, St. Nazianz and Valders police departments.
Along with a variety of other responsibilities, dispatchers are required to; monitor multiple radio frequencies simultaneously, track officer's activities in the field, prioritize calls and dispatch appropriate units, and receive and communicate severe weather information. They also retrieve and enter information in state and federal databases such as wanted or missing persons or stolen vehicles and property.
