Formally known as the 'Old Saybrook Flower Shop', Mar Floral & Botanicals is home to some of the freshest and most unique flowers on the shoreline. By displaying the loose stems in the cooler, as well as on the floor and around the store, customers are inspired and envision how the flowers would look in their own homes or containers.

With inventory changing on a day-to-day basis, no designs are the same. Arrangements are created to order using the freshest flowers available.

I stopped into Mar Floral to buy my boyfriend's aunt some flowers as a thank you for hosting us. I told the girl in the front counter my budget and that I'd like it to be girly and filled with peonies. I picked up the flowers the next day, and boy did they deliver. Even better, Aunt Bonnie is a flower and plant expert. When I gave her the flowers she was delighted and knew immediately the flowers were of great quality. She even let me know that Mar Floral is known in town for the best flowers. The flowers are really reasonably priced for what you get. They have grab and go bouquets for $25 and custom arrangements start at $40. Plan accordingly because the window this florist is open each day is short; but that's totally understandable!
My husband bought me a beautiful bouquet of white roses for Valentine's Day. After several days, some of the roses started to droop. Marlee, the owner, quickly replaced the flowers for me and had them delivered. Very happy with the replacement flowers and customer service!
I hired Mar. Floral for my June ‘22 wedding and highly recommend Marlee! I changed my vision a few times and Marlee was patient and was great at listening to uncover the look and feel I wanted - and she captured it perfectly with gorgeous bouquets for me and my bridesmaids, boutonnières for my husband and his groomsmen, and beautiful driftwood centerpieces for our reception. She is also very professional, was easy to work with, has fair pricing, and hand delivered everything herself - on time and stress-free!
Marlee did the flowers for my wedding and I only have the most wonderful things to say. Not only is Marlee incredible talented, but she was so wonderful to work with. I highly recommend MarFloral for your wedding or any other occasion. Marlee has impeccable taste and impressive expertise and experience. I shared with Marlee my ideas and she put together a proposal and floral arrangements that far exceeded expectations. Everyone was talking about how beautiful the flowers were. They were the focal point of the dining room and brightened up the night. Marlee was also so easy and fun to work with. She is kind, sweet, and easy going but also organized and timely. My grandmother made a last minute request, which Marlee was happily flexible to accommodate.
Marlee is incredible!! I used her for my wedding this past weekend and couldn’t be happier with the arrangements she put together. All of her work is stunning and she was an absolute pleasure to work with from day one! I highly highly recommend!!!
My husband has given me flowers from MAR since we first started dating. I always have appreciated, loved and admired Marlee's creativity and the unique florals she finds to include in her arrangements. Of course, there was no question when we were planning our wedding, that we would want Marlee and her team to do the flowers. Everything was stunningly beautiful and perfect. She saw the vision I had that I don't know I even exactly knew myself and ran with it, putting the perfect details and touches into place. She is beyond talented, professional, organized, thoughtful and kind. My husband showed up to her shop on the day of our wedding, as she was busy preparing, asking for more flowers so he could decorate our car. She laughed along and whipped something up for him right then and there - which like everything else she makes, was beautiful. We cannot recommend her enough! Thank you!!
I absolutely can't say enough about Mar Floral! Every time I enter the shop, it is like the first time I have been there. Everything is presented beautifully and the quality is amazing! The staff, especially the owner, are extremely helpful and knowledgeable.......thank goodness because my thumb is not extremely "green". I have purchased many planters, plants, fresh flowers, wreaths , and gifts throughout my visits. Want to feel happy? Just head in and ask for a mixed bouquet, and they last forever when cared for appropriately. I highly recommend Mar Floral for flowers, plants, and especially one of a kind gifts! I drive to Old Saybrook from Meriden just to browse : Enter at your own risk......you will LOVE it!
Staff was absolutely unprofessional when my boyfriend went in to get flowers telling him that they were ugly flowers and giving attitude if I could give zero stars I would. Just because the employees working there may not like every flower they sell doesn’t mean a customer wouldn’t like them absolutely disgusted with the way they treated him. Oh and by the way the flowers were gorgeous . I can assure you that this is the place he got the flowers from I had to make the bouquet myself because the flowers came wrapped in plastic.
We used Mar Floral for our wedding in October 2021. We ended up having to postpone twice and each time Marlee was so understanding and able to accommodate us. We also had to change our flower choices due to the changes in the season that came with the new date, but everything went seamlessly. We would definitely recommend using Mar Floral for a wedding or other major event.
I cannot say enough about Marlee and the beautiful work that she did for my wedding. She was so easy to work with and responsive. She took my vague vision of fall, dried flowers for my October wedding and far exceeded my expectations. I would recommend her over and over again!
