Great taste, excellent service reasonable price, awesome Pulpo a la Parrilla... very good sangria and easily one of the best chef's in town Andres... almost an "Made in Spain" experience.

I had no idea it was new, but the menu is simply irresistible! If you like REAL cuisine from Spain Mediterranean, Basque, etc this is a MUST visit place!

The food is beautiful and of high quality. I loved the shrimp and chocolate cake I had - one of the best chocolate desserts I had in a LONG time. Also the tea is amazing: fragrant and smooth. The owner is also very pleasant, charismatic, and kind. I really recommend this place!

Despite being open for such a short period of time, Mara has definitely proven to be a worthy addition to the Coral Gables restaurant scene. It definitely has it all... Amazing food, refined ambiance and fantastic service led by Tamara Mara the owner who stops by every table to greet and personalize each guests dining experience. If you enjoy authentic Spanish food, this restaurant is a must!

Excellent new Basque Restaurant in Coral Gables! Jorge took great care of us! Wonderful pork chops and salmon with spinach! Also tried the tapas grilled octopus, amazing! I will definitely be back!

Walking on Giralda we decided to try this place out. The service was slow slow slow. We spent almost 3 hours at this place. When our food finally arrived, our food was terribly undercooked. We returned our plates and asked for it to be cooked some more. 3 minutes pass by and the food comes out again and it’s still exactly the same. Sent it back a SECOND time. We decided to take it home and finish cooking it ourselves. The server brings out the food again and it’s still the same..... We ordered some sangria and it was just straight up fruit punch with ice. Additionally we tried to go to the bathroom and there was someone cleaning because one of the toilets were clogged. When we asked if it was okay to go in the response we got was “Yes, but don’t get the bathroom dirty!” We were truly disappointed with our experience in this restaurant.

Speaking as someone who goes to Spain 3-4 times per year, I can say the food at Mara falls short. I was excited when this restaurant opened across the street from home. Hearing “Basque cuisine” sets a very high bar, as it is world renown. The food at Mara was ok and certainly pricy for what you get. The selection on the menu looks good enough, but the excecuted plates do not deliver. I was also disappointed to see that they call Maine lobster bogavante, they are definitely not the same thing and it made me feel duped. Service is good and friendly, I would give 5 stars for that. I might go back for drinks and the service, but not for the food.

Mara Basque Cuisine & Lounge was a pleasant and welcome surprise: the Grilled octupus was the best we have had in Miami: the Branzino loins with roasted tomatoes was a quintessential recommendation from our waiter and the Albariño white wine the perfect complement. Needless to say the service was impeccable, could not ask for anything better. I know this restaurant is going to be a great success, we are already planning our next visit. Higky recommend it!!!

Wonderful food and live music on a Thursday night. Everyone at our table had an excellent meal. We shared tapas, some ordered paella, some fish, some steak. Glowing compliments all around.
