Having spent the first part of my athletic life being able to self-motivate to workout, I was fortunate enough to discover Joe and Marathon Fitness around the time I turned 40. What a difference that made!! Joe is the absolute best! From technique to motivation to nutrition to physiology, Joe is an expert. Joe the owner is hands down the best trainer I have ever worked with. He knows how to make adjustments in just the right way that have substantial impact. He also has so many tricks up his sleeve that no two workouts are ever alike. He Is incredibly knowledgeable in the biology & mechanics of the body. But most importantly, his integrity & personality keep him a cut above the rest.

Joe Johnson and his team have transformed the 12 South area with group workouts, private sessions, Boot Camps and a whole lot of positive energy. If you are in the Hood, or visiting 12 South, this is the place you want to go for a workout - fun, challenging and unique. Joe is truly gifted in his knowledge of the human body he has a PhD in physiology! and always makes sure his attention is on each individual. Try the Boot Camps. It will kick your bootie!
Joe Johnson is the greatest coach I've ever seen. He figures out what motivates each person, and uses that method to individually tailor fitness goals and a routine that works. He's my son's coach... that's how much I think of Joe.
Joe is the best trainer that you will ever find. He understands the physiology of the work out. So, you get RESULTS. Want a meal plan? He has it. Want a pep talk? He has it. Want to know anything in the encyclopedia? He can do that too. I always enjoy my workouts with Joe, and you will too.
Joe @ Marathon Fitness is the best personal trainer my wife and I have ever had. In fact, personal trainer is probably too limiting for all Joe does psychology, nutrition, friendship, exercise.
Joe Johnson, owner of Marathon Fitness, has been my personal trainer for over 12 years. Joe is an expert in exercise and nutrition and training people of all ages and fitness levels. He does not take a "one size fits all approach" but adapts exercise regimens to each person's needs to make sure they reach and maintain their goals without sustaining injuries. He can design individualized meal plans for you whether you are wanting to lose weight, maintain functional fitness, or get in shape for a body building contest. He does NOT promote diet and fitness fads or push supplements like some trainers do. He also offers remote training sessions so he has clients who live all over the country. This has made my workouts so much more convenient now that I'm working from home full-time. I have trusted him for 12 years and look forward to the next 12!
Absolutely Joe is the best and most knowledgeable trainer in the south. He goes beyond the challenging workouts and befriends you with his kindness. Great clients too.
