The Marin County Law Library provides access to legal information resources through a variety of media, research assistance, and technologies.
The Marin County Public Law Library is part of the California County Law Library system and was established more than 125 years ago, in 1891. The Law Library provides free public access to legal information through books, periodicals, and a newly upgraded computer system. We pride ourselves on our service, and besides providing practical materials to attorneys and judges, work especially hard to help our self-represented litigants, who make up more than half our 4000 annual patrons. When people want to know more about their rights, they can come to our county’s public law library, where we make it possible for the general public to use the law to solve problems, access justice, leverage opportunities, and have their day in court.
The Marin County Law Library serves the public by providing access to legal information resources through a variety of media, research assistance, and technologies needed to give practical expression to the law, while maintaining a flexible and supportive presence that fosters the ends of community service and social justice.
