History:
Marinello Funeral Home, Inc.was built in 1967 and originally operated as Coram Memorial Chapel. Ownership was passed to the McCaddin family, which operated
the funeral home as Henry A. McCaddin and Son, Inc. for approximately 15 years. In 1994, Thomas A. Marinello purchased the funeral home and eventually changed the name of the firm to Marinello Funeral Home, Inc.. Over the years, Tom Marinello has overseen extensive expansion and renovation of the original facilities. In 2009 Thomas A. Marinello passed away and his wife Kathy Marinello is now the acting owner.
Facilities:
Marinello funeral home occupies an 8,400 square foot, one-story, white brick building situated on a well-manicured, one-acre site. The parking area, which surrounds the building on three sides, accommodates approximately 50 vehicles. Additional on street parking is readily available.
The main floor of the facilities consists of 2 large reposing rooms, spacious arrangement office, lounge and hall areas, as well as men's and ladies and handicapped restrooms. The main floor is fully handicapped accessible. The lower level consists of another reposing room and a second lounge, merchandise selection room, and preparation room.
Services Offered:
Marinello Funeral Home, Inc. provides a full range of funeral services, from simple burials and cremations with no services to traditional open-casket visitations followed by burial, cremation, or entombment (above-ground burial).
Marinello Funeral Home, Inc. also receives decedents from out-of-town for local services and transfers decedents out-of-town for services elsewhere.
The range of funeral service options is virtually limitless. Although this website provides some basic useful information, it is not meant to be a substitute for a detailed consultation with a licensed funeral director. During a telephone, or better yet, a face-to-face consultation, wishes are expressed, suggestions are made, questions are answered, and meaningful funeral service tributes are formulated, only then can an accurate estimate of expenses be made.
The selection of a funeral director is a very personal matter, similar to selecting a physician or attorney. A consultation also affords the client an opportunity to judge the character, temperament, and knowledge of the person who may be coordinating all aspects of the funeral service.
The funeral home regularly services families from Selden, Coram, Middle Island, as well as Port Jefferson, Port Jefferson Station, Holtsville, Farmingville, Medford, Centereach, Mount Sinai and Miller Place.
Expenses:
Funeral expenses vary based on the client's selection of services and merchandise. Only after a detailed consultation with the client can an accurate estimate of expenses be made. As a smaller, family-owned, independent funeral home, Marinello Funeral Home, Inc. can provide exceptional services at prices that are more economical than most multi-location family-owned or corporately owned firms.
Direct cremation and burial services begin at $1,195.00.
Pre-arrangements:
Several kinds of funeral pre-arrangements can be made, all at no charge to the client.
1) Documented/Non-funded
A client's wishes can be fully documented by the funeral home and maintained
for the future. No expenses are paid at the time of the pre-arrangements. No
obligation exists to utilize Marinello Funeral Home, Inc. at the time of need.
2) Documented/Funded
A client's wishes can be fully documented as above; and an interest-bearing
escrow account can be opened with all or a portion of the anticipated funeral
expenses. Deposits can be made at the convenience and discretion of the client;
and the client may liquidate the account or transfer the account to another funeral home at any time. The fund administrator receives a small percentage of the interest earned on the account as their fee.
3) Medicaid Approved Burial Fund (irrevocable)
A client applying for Medicaid in anticipation of nursing home care can fully document their wishes. An interest-bearing escrow account can be established and the total of the funeral expenses can be deposited. These funds are effectively sheltered for Medicaid purposes. The client may not liquidate any portion of the account but, the account may be transferred to another funeral home at any time. The fund administrator receives a small percentage of the interest earned on the account as their fee.
In the above cases, prices are not guaranteed at the time of pre-arrangements.
Prices in effect at the time the services are rendered will be charged. Interest earned on the escrow accounts should offset any increase in funeral expenses.

Marinello Funeral Home, Inc. proudly serves all faiths and has close ties to most local houses of worship. The funeral home regularly arranges tributes for these organizations, as well as other religious, fraternal and veteran organizations for their deceased members.

From the East:
Long Island Expressway West to exit 64 (Route 112); make a right turn onto Route 112 heading north, continue 3.5 miles to Middle Country Road/ Route 25; make left turn onto Middle Country Road/ Route 25; Marinello Funeral Home is located approximately 1/2 mile down Middle Country Road/ Route 25 on the right hand side just past Popei's.

Marinello Funeral Home is located on the north side of Middle Country Road, 3/4 of a mile east of North Ocean Avenue/ Route 83 and 1/2 of a mile west of Route 112.
