I was so pleasantly surprised with this place when I took my kids to get their vaccines. I had always heard bad things about the health department but decided to give it a try anyway. The staff was so helpful and very upbeat and friendly. We didn’t have to wait very long at all. The nurse who gave my children their vaccinations was very professional, knowledgeable, and took her time answering my questions and putting my mind at ease. She even called the next day to check in and see how my children were doing which meant a lot to me.
They had me go through 3 hours of processing for a dentist appointment. Only to tell me that they do not offer any dental care as all their dental staff staff is on strike or has quit. If you want to go waste your life while in constant pain, then this is the place.
Don and Elisa were so extremely helpful during our visit! We were having such difficulty with getting the death certificates prior to these two helping! They were amazing! Thank you so much for all of your help!!
I brought my daughter for a series of vaccinations and the service was extraordinary! No sooner had we checked in with immunizations, we were invited back to the exam room where the shot was quickly administered. We were in and out in less than 3 minutes. The staff is extremely friendly and polite. It is a joy to go to the Health Department in Marion County.
I just wanted to express my sincere gratitude to David Horn and EHD for helping me out with my new construction well water issue. David was professional, courteous, knowledgeable and extremely caring in showing a true concern for me and my family’s well-being. We had an orange tint to our water supply and and after extensively researching the issue I thought we had ferrous or ferric iron in our water supply. David suggested just simply turning on the water spigot at the well tank on full blast for approximately 3 hours because he felt it was simply a sand residue. Well David was 1000% correct after 3 hours of purging the system me and my family have crystal clear safe drinking water!!! I can’t thank David Horn enough for his kindness, knowledge and patience in helping me out. I highly recommend talking to David if you ever have any water safety issues!!! Thank you.
Clearly states recommended to call and make an appointment . It’s a waste of time to call when no one answers the phones during business hours .
I just received my second dose of COVID vaccine. The professional, friendly and talented staff at the Paddock Mall site made the event relaxing and caring. I waited a very short period of time, and I was welcomed and informed about side effects and safety issues. The health department should be proud of their staff and volunteers! My compliments and thanks to everyone for making life safer in challenging times.
I had been watching the struggle of Florida residents trying to obtain the Covid-19 Vaccination with great concern and wondered when the vaccine might be available to my mother who is in the 65+ group here in Marion County. I hoped there would not be the kinds of waiting lines by foot or car that I had been seeing from other Florida counties on television but figured we would have to do whatever we needed to get my mother that vaccine. When the vaccine for Marion County was advertised on the news one evening, I immediately got online to try to get an appointment for her. Once I completed inputting the information, I was instructed that someone from the Marion County Health Department would contact us for scheduling. I figured we might have to wait several weeks to a month, but within a week or so, I received a call on Thursday, January 21, 2021, stating they could give her an appointment for the following day at 2:45 p.m. I was given the information as to the place, Paddock Mall, and that there would be carts to help get people from their car to the front doors of the Mall entrance in case we had to park far away. When Friday came, I packed up my mother’s wheelchair, an umbrella in case we had to stand out in the rain/sun, sweaters, and water for us both. We arrived at the Paddock Mall and I was surprised that I did not see a long line of people winding around the building. Instead, we found a good parking spot, walked up to the small tent directly outside the entrance, and received a short form to fill out with a color-coded numbered card. Before we could complete the form, our color was called where we then moved up to a waiting spot to the left of the entrance doors. Within about 5 minutes we were escorted inside to a table where I checked her in and handed in the form. The staff gave us her second appointment to come back for the last of the two vaccinations. No more than another 5 minutes we were then placed in a line that moved quickly around a few store fronts and into an empty store space where she received her vaccine provided by nursing staff. We then went to a thirty-minute waiting area where we received pertinent information regarding the vaccine and what to do if any problems occurred. After that, we were free to go. The whole process took about one hour. The Marion County Health Department, Fire Department/EMT’s, volunteer staff, and Marion County Sheriff’s Office did a fantastic job of setting up and processing the Covid-19 Vaccinations. I believe the entire State of Florida could benefit from the way Marion County has taken on this project.
Q why can't you notify people who registered online and gave you their email address a notification that their request has been receive and why cant those same people be notified via email of the appointment data and time. Also why can't you predict an appointment time for people. You know how many shots per day you can do. It doesn't have to be exact it could be " the week of" with a follow-up with an exact time by email &/or phone leave voice mail
I’ve been trying to get a hold of my kids immunization records. Signed a medical release form 3 weeks ago I call everyday to see if the form is ready and everyday I get a different response. I was told I was going to get a call back today and they close at 5pm and still nothing.
