Have heard so much about Marra's but had never been- until tonight.. What an wonderful night we had. Service was so attentive. We were fortunate to meet owner Freddy who recommended great dishes for us. The cooking was like you were eating in someone's kitchen- it was true homestyle cooking. The burrata with roasted peppers and prosciutto was a tremendous start. A simple plate of sautéed broccoli rabe and sausage was a taste sensation! Perfectly al dente rigatoni bolognese had a wonderful version of bolognese sauce, so hearty...and a side of ricotta....a seriously delicious pasta... For dinner we shared the recommended chicken Marvin---kind of like a chicken francese only much, much better. We finished dinner with a freshly filled cannoli which was simply delicious. We came here expecting a good dinner, but had no idea how good the food actually was. We highly recommend Marra's and can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
Great thin crust pizza, delicious eggplant rollatini, perfect fried calamari... Tasty and generous portions.
Always good food here. Pizza is a nice thin crust, all dishes are generous portions with great flavor.
Great food at decent prices. 2 people at the table had Drunken Chicken and absolutely loved it. I had the Chicken Marvin which was excellent! Never heard of that dish so i gave it a try. Picture Chicken Francaise with melted mozzarella, tomatoes and mushrooms on top. Very very good. Fried calamari was nice and crispy , as was the bread for the table. Definitely eat there again soon!
The meatballs were amazing. I had the pork chop, which was fine. The broccoli rabe with sausage is definitely worth coming back for- we got a couple of orders to share. Service was very accommodating with people splitting dishes, and we had a 2 1/2 year old being noisy to boot. If we're in the neighborhood, we'd go back for those meatballs!
Ordered dinner for four special. Chicken savoy was as good as it gets. Penne w vodka sauce was also delicious and the portions w salad were more than the four of us could eat. Woman on the phone was very helpful as well. It was also packed and wrapped very nicely to go.
Most of the meal was excellent, but the balsamic calamari was overcooked. The carrots which are plated as a universal appetizer were delicious. The service was very good. Unfortunately, it was also quite noisy, but not enough to be really annoying, despite being rather noticable.
Good, but a bit pricey. However, one needs to expect this in Livingston, New Jersey, where all businesses jack up prices. It's a BYOB, so no booze. No drinks except H2O. 1 Caesar Salad, 1 House Salad, 1 Drunk Chicken, 1 Chicken Parmesan $57.71 + $10.00 tip = $67.71 or $33.00+/head. Again, the food was GOOD. Good crowd. Friendly waitress. Bad acoustics, very noisy. I just think you can get these items at a better price, especially as a BYOB.
It has a really great ambiance. When we first sat down we were quickly given bread and a few other small starters. The wait staff was very attentive and brought our appetizer out quickly. The "Daddys Pie" a pizza with sausage and cherry peppers was amazing. The pizza is a super thin crust but still holds up with all the toppings. The entries were next. I had rigatoni in a sweet and spicy sausage sauce. It was really well done. The subtle heat really made the dish. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great italian dinner.
Awesome food! Delicious Italian. Very nice prices. Chicken Savoy is phenomenal. The only one I've had the compares to that of The Belmont. Burrata appetizer is delicious. Cavatelli and pot cheese also pretty good. Service was great. Definitely going back for more!
