We were pleased with the location on campus during move in weekend! The staff was over the top helpful and friendly! The food was delicious and the rooms are spectacular! It was our first time here but will not be our last!Rooms: 5/5
Another great Marriott property! Great location near Vanderbilt University and Parthenon. Rooms, bar and fitness were excellent. My only complaint is front desk staff was not particularly friendly or helpful at check in. Would probably stay here againRooms: 5/5
I suspect a severe mold issue in second floor - walk up the steps and the smell smacks you in the face and for 6 days in a row there was condensation on the walls in our conference rooms. The hotel overall was nice. Great location. Miriam catered and facilitated our conference and was always at hand to help us clean up, feed us etc. I agree with many other reviews here that many of the lobby staff are terrible at hospitality while the other half of them are going above and beyond to make up for their colleagues. The valet staff for the most part a special breed of sketchy and unprofessional - better fit for parking cars at a low rent B league sports arena than a flagship hotel next to Vanderbilt and the Parthenon at Centennial park. You need to find a new sub contractor or fire your hiring manager. Severe lack of consistency of hospitality at this Marriott. I would not come back.
2/5 stars. Pros: modern bathroom, spacious rooms, and kind valet service. Cons: I had a very bad experience with this Marriott. I emailed the property thrice saying I was going to be arriving late because of a concert that ran over and when I called to confirm that they received my messages they said they had zero indication I was even an expected guest that night. They cited that it might be because I was considered a “no show” which is bizarre considering their website says check in lasts until 2am. At 1:20am I had to call and message back and forth between a third party booking site and this hotel basically begging them to honor my reservation. Hotel staff behind the front desk doesn’t greet you. Won’t even look up until you ask them a question. I’m not someone who nitpicks, but paying this price for this hotel and being treated like I was invisible was such a bummer, especially after the fiasco where they insisted I was a no show. The front area looks quite modern but when you go up the elevator you go back in time to drab, all brown hallways complete with eerie buzzing lights. Feels like a cheap motel not a Marriott Bonvoy. Couldn’t in good faith recommend this hotel. Look elsewhere around West End.
While this is a very nice hotel, we did not have a good stay here. They were short staffed, but I will say that the staff that was available was mostly friendly and helpful. To start, we were told we could wait in the bar/lounge area however there was no bartender while we waited for our room to be ready we were told they called off. Our rooms were supposed to be ready by 1:00 but we did not get into them until 3:30. We were charged for valet parking $45/per night, but there was no other option to park, as there was construction all around us! The construction is not anyone's fault, and because there was no other option, we thought that forcing the valet fee was very very wrong. We were happy about having the complimentary shuttle service, but we were left stranded at night with no one answering the shuttle phone number. We had to then pay for a cab ride back to the hotel, and when we arrived we asked why no one was answering the shuttle phone and we were told that the driver went home early/sick. Now looking over our bill, we were double charged for the valet parking. The hotel itself is lovely and clean, and obviously the issues relate directly back to staffing. It made for a frustrating weekend.
This place is new clean but somewhat small. It’s conveniently located only two miles to all the great places on Broadway but not a walking distance. The gym was closed during the day. The good thing about the place is that the rooms are well insulated and it’s quite inside. The restaurant and bar inside are nice with quick service.
I travel for work , this time my Job sent me to Vanderbilt university. There is a shuttle literally RIGHT behind this hotel that took me to Vanderbilt 5/5 DONT get any better than that !!! Location wonderful. Bar AWESOME! Food overpriced but hey. Also, the ceiling in the bathroom was peeling but I think they can fix that . I’ll stay here again at some point though . Bed was comfortable. Nice hotel overall Rooms: Nice size Walkability: Perfect , P.F. Chang’s and Fleming’s seconds away on foot ! Food & drinks: Bar drinks so good !
Very comfortable stay. Great location. Excellent service from front desk!! Loved taking a long walk in Centennial Park across the street.Rooms: 5/5
Great location, parking is absolutely terrible and the room is not clean see the picture of whatever that is…. Front desk was not terribly friendly, so I don’t even want to go back to them. Emailed the hotel, I’ll post an update if/when then get back to me. Rooms: Rooms are sub-par for the class of hotel. It’s really the location that makes it. If this were anywhere else, the rooms would be marginal at best. Safety: Very safe… standard security practices, however they advertise using the app to unlock your door, which the front desk explicitly said doesn’t work. Honestly, not worth the effort to stay here.
Very nice hotel. Clean, quality rooms. Great bar. Shuttle round trip to downtown about 10 min.Rooms: 5/5
