Be careful of this facility. I lost my parking ticket, but had made a purchase and been there less than an hour so I figured take some time at the concierge and get it worked out. NOPE. $40 hard if you loose your ticket. They do not care.
We stayed there in 2009 We will never stay here again. The place is haunted. What we experienced in two nights there has taken a toll on us the rest of our lives!!!!! Noteworthy details: Haunted verified by 4 different hotel employees
The staff is really nice and friendly. Our room is pretty good. The bathroom is beautiful, but it is ruined a little by the paint chipping in the shower and weird, questionable vent directly above your head while showering. I can't tell if there is just rust/ crud built up in there, or if there is mold. The room is spacious, clean, and trendy. If there was a mini-fridge, it would have made it perfect to stay here. The biggest thing for me is that the website said free parking, but I was charged $18 per night. Not too happy about that. Otherwise, it was a nice place to stay. I did like the free shuttle to Universal Studios, even though the last pickup was 8 pm, but the park didn't close until 10 pm.
I was here to celebrate a 50 year reunion of the casts of Disney on Parade, a series of arena shows. The rooms were large and clean and relatively well appointed with a relaxed, somewhat modern vibe. The food and service in the cafe was wonderful, though I only had breakfast. I enjoyed my stay and the reunion tented venue was spectacular. The helpful, friendly staff made this very special event as good as it gets! Just a perfect time was had by all and we were all very grateful for the experience. The one downside would be that the hotel has been around a long time and few elements should be updated, particularly the enamel coating in my room's bathtub 324. It was scratched or chipped under the faucet area, and though very clean, it gave the look of something less than clean. In the rooms, though clean and comfortable, there was a vibe of a hotel needing just a little love to bring it back to its glory days. There was also construction going on. Lastly, it is difficult to see the car entrance to the hotel. It is easy to drive past it a few times before seeing the right driveway. Perhaps this is the result of the construction work being done. Though an older property, overall a top ten experience.
Take this review with a grain of salt especially if you're young/don't have kids. The staff was as accommodating as they could be considering the condition of the hotel. They had the staff bring us up a mini fridge by hand when we requested one and they switched our room to a less smelly one when we requested it. It's an old place and although they have upgraded fixtures, the place is in serious need of some power washing. The smell of decades of cigarette smoking takes its toll on the hallways. The smell doesn't necessarily go away when you're in your room. The crystal clear pool can be seen from just about all the inward facing rooms and the decor of the lobby area is very nice. I feel like this place is definitely more geared towards singles/young couples ready to experience the way Hollywood used to glam. If this is your cup, this is a great place for it. If you have a family, there are better options.
The location is great. Staff if kind and efficient. The rooms are spacious, the beds and linens are great. The bathrooms although are updated their bathtubs/showers need some tlc. I've stayed in different rooms over the last four months and they are all the same, needing some refinishing. The food and room service is awesome! Cool little place to stay.
Stayed in room 212. Room was very nice, but the toilet kept talking back after flushing and didn't always remove toilet paper. Overall the hotel is a tad dated with threadbare carpets in the halls, but very soft and comfortable carpeting in room. Room service was quick and extremely tasty, but also paid what one would expect. Front desk was quick, efficient, and friendly. Pool was heated and looked inviting, but forgot my trunks The bed was AMAZING! The blanket was weighted and confirmed to your body. Pillows were soft and made sleeping easy. Looking forward to staying again later this year for a weekend visit.
This was a fun environment it does have construction going on so be prepared for that. But they had music at night by the pool. They also have a bar by the pool and the lady was really nice. They have a restaurant but I wasn't to into it but my friend liked it. The room I stayed at was cute and had lots of space and clean. I like the balcony as well but is joined by others with only a small gate. The front is very dark so kinda hard to spot at night but sits back from the road so it isnt to noisy. The customer service was great as well. Would definitely stay again.
The outside of the hotel looks a bit dated but don't be fooled. As soon as you walk in everything has been renovated. The staff is friendly and provided us with great service. There is a bar available right next to the pool so you can have a cocktail outside while lounging. The rooms are very minimalistic with a lot of open space and not a whole lot of furniture but everything was very clean and comfortable. I'll definitely come back when I'm in the area
Gorgeous hotel! When the pool gets finished it's going to be a hot commodity! The rooms were so clean, the beds very comfy, nice patio looking out to the LA Riverfront/path and good size parking lot for bigger vehicles. The staff was so nice and very helpful. Shuttle to Universal and little cafe right on premises. Loved our stay here!
