I really like this campground. Very clean. Free clean showers and flush toilets. They have full hookups, partial, no sewer with 30amp and 50amp, tent sites, some with electric. Staff is wonderfully. Some sites on the Kern River. Also a Frizbee Golf course. Think u should wear boots, lol. I was there for a week. Reserve 6 nites and 7th free. Kernville town is super close with nice places to eat. Also a park where u can drop in ur float and relax. I highly recommend this campground.
Staff was rude, unhelpful and really did not have any social skills to speak of. No campsite map and the site we stayed at was not marked. I walked back to office to find out what site was mine before I parked our RV trailer. After waiting for 2 customers ahead of me they pointed out the window and said right there! I asked where exactly? So I get the right spot. A gentleman walked out to the site to show me. Thankyou. I parked and set up camp. Next morning I was told by another park employee, I have to move my rig to another spot. I said " That aint happening " I explained what happened the day before, he said I still have to move because another group of RV campers needs spots together. Im not moving... Thats when he accused me of getting loud and obnoxious and throwing my card..ect. I was just stunned. Me? He said we have video of it in the office. I asked again....video of me? I then said to him...I want to see this video! He said its private?? So I had had enough. I told him I would only leave this spot if I got a full refund with a receipt! I went to the office, spoke to one of the girls She had Dreadlocks that was preasent the day before and asked for a refund receipt. She did not remember any throwing incident. I got the receipt, packed up the trailer and we left. First and last t trip to Rivernook!
Well maintained place. This trip will be like the 5th for us. Showers need to be open until around 10 pm. It would be nice if they would lay gravel throughout the while site.
Not a bad experience, decent customer service. Our pull-thru was awkwardly placed between trees and a firepit laid toward the front end, so we backed out. Great location, solid four-star experience.
This business just blocked me from commenting on their social media page because they are hosting a copycat event of the original Kern River Beer & Music Fest. They stole the date, the name, the goal of fundraising for charity, they stole the entire concept. - poor business practices, lack of transparency, theft of intellectual property, bad mouthing former employees, shutting down their restaurant without notifying employees everyone lost their jobs overnight, no notice, etc. If you are a friend, an industry ally, or just a decent human being I ask that you comment on their social posts so the world can know of their deceitful business practices. Let people know their event is a copycat event and urge people to support the original Kern River Beer & Music Festival!
Love this Campground. They can accommodate tents to large rvs. Lots of riverfront spots and non-riverfront are all a short walk to the river. All spots are nice size. Staff is SUPER FRIENDLY! On-site store with basic essentials.
I would give this place a 0 I have been camping my whole life and this place is the worst I have ever been. We could not play our music on our phone they asked us to turn it off we could not use golf cart we were told it was banned we were told to leave a day early without notice so they called the police it’s ridiculous. They have roaches here and there was no please to sit by the water I will never go back here again. Do not go here they are harassing us the whole time. I would go next door It’s clean and very nice.
Rivernook was awesome! We camped right on the river. The staff was cool. One thing we really liked was how even after the camp store was closed. They would roll around with a golf cart every hour or so. If you needed wood or ice they would deliver it to your spot! We showed up on motorcycles with a small dog. Camp spots were a little close together, but still enough space for a few to setup.
This was our second time coming down to this campground from SD CA. And as usual we loved and enjoyed every second : BUT when we got home my 2 yr old started having a fever and a bad rash all over his little body, i took him to the hospital and guess what? He had SWIMMERS ITCH. I never knew what it was until then. He caught it here at rivernook campground. Just wanted to inform anyone. Its not dangerous but it is pretty gross and scary
Unfortunately it’s not the same place. The camp ground recently changed management and it’s not the same place. The new staff are not very helpful and know very little about guest service. There is no one patrolling at night so other guests are allowed to play music and yell all night. Yet the staff was quick to ask that you do not walk in the residential area of the park. Extremely disappointed with the new management. Beaver creek is now a mosquito filled swamp. My family and I have been going here for almost 40 years and we are seriously considering going somewhere else.
