A nice, classy, Asian restaurant in the Tallahassee area. I’m always looking for new asian food in Tallahassee and this was a nice find! I came here as I go to “Little Masa” often and had heard these two were connected. But don’t be fooled, they are nothing alike. They just both happen to serve Asian food, and they’re both decent, but I actually prefer the cheaper, more casual, Little Masa. I enjoyed my time here but this is not an exceptional restaurant. The food is decent, but could use more seasoning, especially as an Asian restaurant. The sushi is very good but also pretty pricey. If you like seafood I recommend trying some here because that’s probably worth more of your money! I enjoyed the stir-fry noodle dish but I also think I could have made as dish as good at home. What is GOOD is their portions! They had very large portions which made the food more worth your money! Overall it’s a decent place and I’m glad to try it, but I feel that I can find better. Try it yourself! Food: The food itself is decent, I give 4 stars for their large portions. Try their seafood pictured is their crab stir fried rice I believe! or their sushi if you’re willing to spend some more money!. Service: The service was, once again, decent. We had a nice waitress that checked on us every once in a while and was polite. Nothing crazy. Atmosphere: This is probably the best reason to come here, as they do have a nice atmosphere. This restaurant is “nicer”, but may also seem a bit dry and dark, like it’s missing something. As a college student, it worked for me!
This was a ladies night out. We all ordered different dishes and tried a little of it all. I personally had the pineapple fried rice with shrimp. We also ordered the crab and cream cheese wantons. One word; DELICIOUS! All of our food was delicious. Items that were tried were General TSO's chicken, Masa Bang Bang chicken, fried Calamari and Mushroom with garlic pepper sauce added shrimp. The only downfall was the Waitress gave the wrong information on the happy hour drinks. Not all were half priced. Give MASA a try. I hope you enjoy as much as I did. Bon Appétit!
UPDATED- Please let's give these guys a boost! It's Saturday night and they closed early because they didn't have business, but holy COW is this an amazing sushi place. Again, the SAKE FLIGHTS were amazing. The Veggie Rolls are a vegetarian DREAM, and the chef specialties are very on point. This time I went with Beauty and the Beast and I can't wait to try another one next time we come through Tallahassee. HUGE rolls for the price! The sake flight was good, but the hot sake is always my preference. Absolutely recommend the Viva Tally.
We enjoyed this place. My husband had the lamb chops which were amazing. My son and I both had the miso ramen. The ramen was just okay, but I really liked the fried rice. I prefer a soft boiled egg in my ramen. The broth wasn't as flavorful as I was hoping, but it was okay. I'd go there again to try something else on the menu based on how amazing my husband's meal was and the fried rice.
I ventured into this exotic location at sundown. The sky was burnt orange with a smell of lavender in the air. I sat alone at the bar when she walked over asking me what I wanted with a twinkle in her eye and a sly smile. Quite possibly the greatest bartender these tired eyes have ever witnessed. I answered her and with the grace and speed of a gazelle I received my order. It indeed was the best mixture of double hydrogen and oxygen I've ever tasted. I thank my waterproof Merrill hiking boots for transporting me to this intoxicating locale. I soon hope to witness the exquisite bartender that resides there again.
Masa has a fantastic daily lunch special until 2:30pm! We tried lunch express platters with Thai coconut curry and the bok choy tofu with shiitake mushroom - both were great. We also had the miso soup and hot and sour soup - I definitely recommend trying the hot and sour soup! The serve was great and the environment was nice. Definitely recommend trying this place!
A cozy restaurant tucked away in a beautiful area! The restaurant has a very welcoming vibe, and my server was a sweetheart. The red sangria was AMAZING, food was quick!Food: 3/5
Omnivorous place but with fancy vegan options. Everything is so super fresh. Not served with complimentary miso or salad per usual places, but sold separately and we'll worth it. Thai coconut soup with tofu Traditional Tom kha soup, mushroom halves, gently fried tofu, onion, tomato. Perfect. Veggie summer roll with peanut sauce Shredded carrot, glad biddle, slices cuke, spring salad mix. The peanut sauce is traditional, sweet, thick akd creamy. Veggie roll carrot, asparagus, avo, cuke Seaweed salad served over spring salad mix, shredded carrots and sliced rutabaga. Very fresh with a nice crunch Cucumber wrap Veggie roll Skins on cukes! Shredded carrot, avocado, asparagus cucumber with ponzu sauce and second time with garlic miso sauce slightly sweet Some items I almost mistaken as vegan be t wet not: NOT VEGAN: Pan seared Veggie pot stickers not vegan due to bean curd in wrap NOT VEGAN Veggie spider roll Minus cream cheese and spicy mayo and eel sauce all not vegan Veggie tempura spring lettuce mix Indoor and outside seating. The server was very attentive and the water is the very tasty filtered kind. Sincerely, The V3gan Food Critic “Because I have Good Taste” thev3ganfoodcritic at gmail Instagram: thev3ganfoodcritic
Delicious as always! I tried the Grilled Salmon, cabbage w/bacon, and mashed sweet potatoes. The service was top notch, just like the food and the atmosphere is always pleasant.Food: 5/5
Excellent service and the food was good. As usual they have followed the high prices that are everywhere now. I think they could clean better and maybe do something about the floors. The bathrooms were and never have been clean. I find that disorienting but I still frequent the place for it's honey walnut shrimp. They need to hire a cleaning crew to come in clean every day if they are not doing it themselves. The waitress was extraordinary. My son tipped her extremely well and she asked him if he made a mistake. She is an honorable person. Wheelchair accessibility: They were at the door to open it for my sisters wheelchair and if with her down syndrome they treated her with respect and doted on her. They won our business. It was a wonderful evening spent with our family.
