They have been absolutely awful to deal with. They handled my husband’s cremation last year and the minute I wrote the check out, I received NO HELP OR SUPPORT whatsoever. When I picked up the death certificate, it had the wrong date so I could not use it to turn into my employer. The contract did have the correct date, but it was wrong on the certificate and they gave it to me without checking it. I did not immediately check it for a week because I was just so upset that I could not look at it. I called and spoke with numerous people, including a manager, and they just kept telling me to wait. Eight months later, as I was talking to one of my friends, she told me the process that I could do myself so I ended up getting my husband’s revised death certificate and finally was able to get the life insurance money. After doing my taxes that following year, I had to contact the Social Security office and found out that they never received the amended death certificate from the funeral home. I called Mason Woodard, left numerous messages and even wrote a letter and received no response whatsoever. THEY ARE HORRIBLE. I made the wrong decision, calling them in the middle of the night on the worst night of my life - never again.
Working with Mason-Woodard Mortuary has been a difficult experience at a time when we needed professional help. Incompetent is the best word to describe the lack of service we received. The only thing that was done correctly was getting their money! Poor communication, inappropriate calls and disorganization are just a few of our experiences. I would never recommend them and found them a lesson in what not to do. People sent flowers we never received and several calls were made but no help was offered. Promised to return calls but no response. They called three times to ask the same question, what was my husbands level of education really. Each time they were told the answer. Should you decide to use them you have been for warned.
Everyone there was so compassionate from the beginning to the ending of our experience. They tried to take as much stress off of us as possible. Austin specifically was in charge of our arrangements and he was amazing but everyone we came in contact with there gave 100% to us!!
Whenever funeral services are needed they are without a doubt the best choice. Been to many services there and each one is different. They do a great job of delivering what the family desires in a caring manor.
My mother had a pre-pay contract. She was no longer living in Missouri when she died. It took multiple calls from myself and the funeral home and more than 30 days for the funeral home in South Carolina to receive payment. When payment was received it was several hundred dollars less than what she paid for her prepay contract. There was no explanation as to why, and the funeral home had the money for many years. Mason-Woodward performed no service and kept several hundred dollars and received interest on the money for many years. I would not recommend them.
Excellent, the people are so helpful and assist in any way they can during such a difficult time. They truly care about the family. You know your family member's wishes will be honored and that they will be treated with the utmost respect. I would recommend this place to anyone!
Very Helpful when my Father in law passed away in Feb helping us get Military Rights for Him fore his graveside service because was a military retiree with over 24 years service
Very helpful , I really appreciated the military honorary service they gave to my husband ,they are able to arrange it with the little time they had .
Horrible, I have never been treated so poorly, anywhere. This is the first and last time anyone in my family will do any business with these people.
My grandma grams was here and we had the very best service and the workers were very nice
