I have been with this office for a long time, pleased with their quality services most time. But lately I found their quality care seems slipping. The first prescription was sent to the wrong pharmacy. After more messages and phone calls, they said they had to get it authorized to correct their mistake. Not sure I understood the logic.
You may want to suggest to those answering phones to new patients that your not accepting new patients at this time. I sat on the phone for almost 15 minutes with one of your employees giving my insurance information to them & when I was asked what I was going in for I am told this clinic is not accepting new patients. If I call and get transferred to New Patients department and say "Hi I am a new patient" as I did, why could I have just been told "I'm sorry we arent taking new patients"?
Same as below. Called and waited on hold for 20 min only to learn they aren’t taking new patients. Thanks for the time waste.
Went in for routine visit and thyroid blood test total bill $3700 and I have to pay $2000.out of pocket . I could have paid that out of pocket for a major surgery! They ran about 20 extra blood tests from heavy metals to Lyme disease I just needed my routine thyroid test! I’m totally stressed out now. Watch the charges and walk out if you do not get a print out of what tests they are doing before they are done .
I had such a great experience with them yesterday. The doctor was kind, prompt, and knowledgeable, and the lab got all of my tests done super quick, all same day. Dr. Grover will go above and beyond, and he is very friendly. All of the scheduling people very very kind too. What a great place.
Good doctors but I have had awful problems getting my prescriptions sent for 4 years!
Mayo Clinic staff is always very professional and friendly. There is usually a wait but most of the time not as bad as with other providers. The doctors are very approachable and I often message them via the android app or patient portal online. Just, like any other provider, the billing is a nightmare and it is impossible to track and understand. I would expect more from Mayo but they really lack on that aspect.
I was looking for a new general practitioner to maintain a prescription. This office was close and they were able to squeeze me in within a week. I was in and out of the office within an hour. They recommended some standard tests, like blood work, as a new patient. There was no discussion of price, however two weeks later I received a bill for $1,000!!!! Their practices at this facility are border line criminal. BE AWARE!! **Follow-up: After this issue/complaint they revoked my prescription. I now have nothing to show for this experience other than a $1,000 hit to my personal expenses.
Be sure to check the costs of your appointment and labs ahead of time as Mayo charges an arm and a leg. My office visit with a nurse practitioner was over $600. Good thing my insurance took care of most of it. My labs were $1200! That's over 3 times the cost of anywhere else I've gone in my life. The nurse practitioner had the personality of Nurse Ratched from "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", a cold fish.
I always thought that Mayo was the Ivy League of Health Care Providers. But based on my experience they don't even rank. In February I was having daily pain in my knee. I went to my primary care "nurse" because when I came in that was all that I could get, no doctor, no PA but a nurse. She recommended PT and I requested xrays and also asked if I could get one of my hip but that was dismissed. After 4 weeks of PT with no improvement my PT guy left and I started working with another PT person. Despite the fact that the injury to my knee typically heals in 4-6 weeks, and three months had gone by, the guys said if I wasn't getting better I needed to up my pt exercises to 3x a day. The next day I did that and couldn't walk for an entire day! When I wrote to him I got no response. I asked for an MRI of my hip on the portal but noone responded. Two weeks later I asked for another MRI and was finally given one about a month and a half later. Still it was for my knee not my hip. Finally got the referral for my hip and turns out I have a partial thickness tear of the anterior gluteus medius tendon. I am still in terrible pain in my knee and it will be four months since I first requested this that I am finally going in. They recommend using the portal but I have 2 or more doctors that don't seem to look at it. On top of this I was in the hospital on Sunday and when I came out I was told to see a heart specialist asap. When I called my "nurses" office I was told that despite the fact that I received doctors orders from the hospital the nurse had to evaluate me, delaying even further the medical care i needed. And beyond that I was told it would be weeks before I could see a heart specialist I just went out of their system to get better care. Ditto on the phone service. Once I was on hold for an hour only to be told that the doctor I needed to see was not taking any more patients. I have had a great experience with two other doctor's here but these most recent were so frustrating. When someone is in pain and they call for help, it shouldnt be even more painful to try to get help. I still have no idea what is really going on with my knee so I can't treat it. Very very disappointed. Two of my friends have also had very bad service from Mayo and despite the hype around the name, I think you are putting your health at risk by choosing them.
